Well once all of my defensive items were lost, even after buying 3 more I just can't keep up. So it was fun, and I hope you all have fun.
Samapico Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 if he can check the attack logs of everyone, the only way to know who had what is to check the last attack on that person before the change, and check how many weapons were used but its useless to do that if he plans on changing more things that might do the same thing

Granted I got really lucky...really lucky, but I don't have any regrets in regards to my attack of opportunity. I don't get these turn by turn attackers either veg...500k points is hardly worth someone's time. I know I said I won't assign a moralistic justification to my massing/sabbing, but those of you who attack every turn on the turn are going to get massed and sabbed if you keep it up. You know who you are and so do I.

I had a 1.2 mil defence, and by the time I went to bed last night would have had a 2 mil defence, and by this morn even higher. But being I put all of my apples into defence and all of my defence was taken away, and then all of my money was stolen, being I had like a 3k attack, no defence, and no money. Even after the little money I scrounged up before I went to bed I couldn't build my defence back up high enough so that I could keep any money, and being everyone had a much higher defence than my attack I just gave it all away and quit.

When I was playing, I added it as an afterthought just to buy a few hours or force my opponent to up a particular area of thier army before I simply attacked, and doubles my attack potency.

Aileron Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 He didn't fall into the defense trap. What he wanted to do was lead with defense, which is a decent tactic. It failed when his defensive weapons were erased by a bug. And he is correct that I lost a lot less. I led with covert and besides I keep some points on reserve for emergencies. I was much more able to recover from the setback than he was. If instead the bank conked out and I lost my reserve, I would have been the one who was screwed.

»Ducky Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Defense is not a viable tactic. Not in the slightest. The game rewards people who can spend the most time playing it at odd hours. In the say-- 6 hour period of time you want to be away from the computer, bringing in cash while your defense keeps people out; some lucky son of a !@#$%^&* is going to hit someone for an amazing amount of cash through luck.Aileron did this to Varsity and even stated is was pure luck he did it. You've got a player on a wad of cash now and he KNOWS you're sitting on a wad.Why not dump all those new earned points into attack purely for the sake of taking your money? Not only does he get back what he just spent in weapons, he gets to take yet another leap forward to ensure he can do it again. Now that all your money is gone, you can't exactly pump defense anymore while he just got stronger. That's exactly how I rose to top rank, Aileron and Suicide both noticed it. There was no way they could keep up with sufficient defense to keep me out so long as I raised my attack each available time to hit them while they were away. Because I was on and my UP wasn't insane, people attacking me (they never could regardless because I would bank too quickly)never got more than some broken weapons.

I'm not sure you got the whole story there. Varsity had 7 mil in the bank. He withdrew it to buy some weapons, but I hit him before he could do so. Hmmm, come to think of it, last time Ducky routinely hit me between the start of the turn and the 2 seconds it took for me to bank it. I hated it and whined about it, but I didn't quit. I've found the best players of this type of game aren't the ones who don't get hit. Everyone gets hit. What seperates the best from the average is that when a good player gets hit, he recovers faster and more effectively.

Because all of those attackers can take each others money, but I'll just keep mine and do pretty well off of that But that was cut short :/
