Witchie NL Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 As most of you prolly know conti uses 8bit by default to display colours.Say i need to make a zone for 8bit, which colors can i use?Ive looked at colors.bm2 but that doesnt seem to include all the colours conti suports with 8bit.
Smong Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Open up tiles.bm2, use that palette. Do not use the palette from ships.bm2 it is the old one.
PoLiX Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 I just open this up when working, but I also do a lot of pixel by pixel work. I'd just create a pallet from it, and use it. All it is is the ss colors used by 99% of maps and screened from tile edit.sscolors.psd
Witchie NL Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 Those are the exact same palets as i used to create my tileset. But in the background and other lvz's of Desert Storm we use other colors then there are in that pallet.
PoLiX Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 That is the Continuum 8bit colors that SSME can only read. Your other stuff is probably 32bit color, or their own pallete 256 colors, but still 32bit technically as they use a selection of it.
Witchie NL Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 1) i dont use LVZ2) so LVZ's can use more then just conti's pallete whilst playing in 8bit mode?
Witchie NL Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 true. but when i play at 16/32bit the colors look ugly and my pc starts to lag like !@#$%^&*.

Samapico Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 get a cheap 128MB card at 50-60 bucks, it'll do fine for continuum twice the price you can get a very decent 256MB
Witchie NL Posted February 28, 2007 Author Report Posted February 28, 2007 well it sais 256 but in taskman i have 632mb?
Drake7707 Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 he meant 256mb video ram. Taskmanager also includes the virtual ram (page file)
