Nanodyne is a centering armor. 300% burst penalty was just telling 'don't use this armor in bases'.

This armor is all good but bomb penalty suck.

If you raise burst penalty back and lower or remove bomb penalty, I'll buy this one. smile.gif

 

Btw bursts r used in center too, so burst penalty not only applies to basing.

Also, preventing a ship from basing is a good penalty too.

I dont see how nanodyne will be useful, especially at the cost of it right now. It doesent lower bullet damage THAT much, and it even raises bomb damage and burst damage. I'm thinking to make it have a much better defense against bullets, keeping everything else the same.

Its not that bad, its suited for reccers centering I guess. Also it would be good to use against turrets since you take less dmg overall from any bullets that a turret throws at you.

I think a nice armor would be one that SLOWS you down, but gives you +1 recharge and +1 energy, and maybe -2 rot -2 speed -2 thrust, obviously suited for basing lancs and such, but not suited for the regular center ship seeing as anyone can come by and shoot you. Maybe... Nuclear Casing.... lol.

Doesn't sound that bad, if anyone's opinion means something in this one, it would obviously be doc's. Just wait til doc comes across this one... and hopefully he likes it..

Turret hunters usually hit each other, and common anti-turret weapons are bombs and thors.

As sharp mentioned, additional bullet protection is small but bomb penalty is huge.

 

I think 'better vs bullet, weaker vs bomb' concept is useless while bombers bombs have faster speed than bullets.

11, that gave me an idea for a new armor:

 

Repulsion System

+2 repels

no armor

I like the idea with the items, but at the moment in terms of repels, we're trying to decrease their usage, not increase it.

lol you could have a item that gives

 

+1 Repel

-2 Burst

 

You ill become a repper but cant burst much since max burst is 3 (2 CC + 1 Siege). So you could have 4 reps but 1 burst or 4 reps w/ 0 burst. But that might be problem for others if you rep for a turret.

an item i can up with lol:

 

salvo nuke:

20 shrap

like a salvo/wastes like almost all energy for 2-3 shot

give +12% bomb damage

 

 

item thief bomb:as name says takes items for that life and only that life

would be good against turret that are always repping and porting

not so good in basing lol

has only 500 bomb dmg

Is that even possible? Cause i know the setting that lets you set the likely hood of a ship taking dmg......but thats a ship set....maybe we can have an armor that gives something but makes you have likely hood of losing items. Then again I dont know if it will work w/ the equipment thing and all XD

An item stripper brick attack or field would be useful for basing as a counter to brickwarping and item whoring. You would lay one of those down defensively around your lanc. I know you can unprize items.

or how about a bomb that doesnt make there engines shut down but makes them not be able to shoot like hmmmmmm disabler bomb? and while there disabled u can juss go bullet them lol

Thats not "low" rot and speed. Its only -1 speed than solid but provides more stuff so in the end, it will be used for basing cause the sharp dmg is set at radiating coils.

 

That armor is more like a Base Anchor armor than a turret armor.......silly cdrom.
