Reincarnation Item (Btw, if u played Shattered Galaxy, you would know what i am talking about)

 

I thought about this item a while ago but never said it. For those who don't know what Reincarnation means, its "the belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form." or something along the lines of that.

 

The item would cost around 17.5k Exp or more (it takes quite a while to get it, I been playing since last reset and i only got around 13k) The price of it would be....around 2-2.5 Million Creds or so. What this item does is it resets everything you have including ships, creds, exp after you buy it. In return, u gain something like +1 to recharge, speed, rotation or thrust (note, you need to choose what gain u want and u gain only 1 thing).

 

So lets say u do "?buy rein speed" or something close to that, you lose all ships, creds, exp you currently have. Zone gives you 1k gold as start up money and you get +1 speed to all ships when you buy them. So when you have a wb w/ ion engine. You get the speed of the ion engine but 1 extra more speed added on cause of the reincarnation item.

 

Why did I purpose this item? I find once you reached 10k exp and gotten a tw p!@#$%^&* + a few ships w/ ad on them. It just starts losing abit of purpose in playing. There still some fun but there isnt really a goal anymore except go around killing ppl or basing or trying to equip all ur ships w/ tw passes.

 

Also if you buy this item, its like a reincarnation where you r reborn stronger but starts over again. This way, high-exp players will become a new person and other plays can have a chance to kill an ex-high exp player. By the time a player reincarnates, most players will have ad or good enough ships to kill the reincarnated player until he/she gets more exp/money.

 

You can also add in certain items that reincarnated players can buy like a tacnuke w/ abit bigger prox but w/ double/triple the price and more exp requirements. Also, you can reincarnate more than once as in you can get +1 to recharge and speed and those stack on each other but you cant get 2 +1 of speed or so.

 

This item may sound strong but thats why the requirement to get reincarnation is so high. And higher your exp, the harder it is to get more exp. And by the time you probably can reincarnate twice or so, it would be a time for the zone to reset =p

Would be more fun if, just like sg, it would happen every 2-3 months and you would have to signup. A lot of 'vets' without any items versus the players who did not reinc, this is very fun ^^

 

With reinc there is no need for resets (besides the fact the database can get to large).

 

 

I reincarnated twice in sg but I got bored with sg when they changed everything, factions, capital locations, etc.

well, ide say only the rich people would be able to get this kind of item, and you know the saying "the rich get richer" and the newbs will preobably never be able to get an item like this and if they did it would be many many months after a reset until they did... so ide say this is not a good idea.

 

the rich will get better because of this, and he newbs will have an even harder time to get money/base if they had to go against people with this item. So i think Tw p!@#$%^&* is the limit when it comes to expensive stuff. And people alrdy complain about tw p!@#$%^&* being too hard to get!!!

Jowie: Well i suggested the reset part is to make the "vet" start of w/o anything after rein to even things out =p

 

3vil: That may be true but then you can put special limits in place like once u rein, u cant get a tw p!@#$%^&* anymore or reduce how many ad you can have in total after you rein.

 

I mainly suggested this cause it starts to get boring once you get tw pass All u do after that is....get money.....get more ad and tw passes and become like marioman...having like 7 tw passes and 7-8 ad.

This type of thing also appears in a mul!@#$%^&*ude of single-player and MMORPG's in the forms of trascendended classes, remorting, rebirth, etc.

 

Another subtle thing to note is, in such games, upon transcending, remorting, being reborn, reincarnating, etc. you also have higher exp. requirements per level, to balance out your stronger stats and ability to kill monsters worth more exp. As JoWie said, I disagree with item benefits, and should be strictly stat-wise. If this were done, any and all items purchased by the person should double in money and exp. requirements.

 

I'm not really for this idea, since only a few people will even use it, but also as a result, I don't see it being a "vet standard" item such as AD or summoner that excludes the poorer players from a major gameplay element. However, I do not think this will be implemented. Back when HS used stat-wise upgrades, along with another staff member, I strongly pe!@#$%^&*ioned Brain to remove upgrade caps, but add an exponential cost to them. He adamantly opposed this idea since he was against the idea of infinitely having to build up your ship.

Well I didnt know about wat happened in old HS bomook, but i do now ^.^ Yea i guess its not the best since not many ppl can access it.

 

Hmmm now im thinking about having a type of item that characterizes you. So if u choose ur a speed, heavy or stealth pilot and all ur ships get bonuses in wat you choose. Like, being a speed pilot would give u more speed and thrust but less hp and regen where as heavy gives more hp and less speed and thrust and so forth. Maybe this would be better so differenet ppl use different style of ships? But then this might null the negative effects of some items.

Yes, because they don't fit into what I have in mind. Most things don't, and those that do I've probably already come up with.

 

But, that said, many things that are in the zone were thought up by other people, so keep posting ideas.

What about wat i said in my 3rd post? About having pilot characteristics that can affect all your ship's stats.

 

Where ppl who wants to be a speedy pilot gets a +1 speed boost but get -1 hp. Then there could be maneuvers pilots w/ +1 rotation/thrust and -1 the other choice. Heavy pilots w/ more hp and less speed.

 

This item can be very cheap to get like less than 5k so everyone can use it. Sell value will be 0. Also, you can be only 1 type of pilot so if you wanna "retrain" to be a different pilot, you gotta sell your current one and buy a new one.

 

If you want, you can even link it so only speed pilots can use the Pearl mine item and only heavy pilots can use tacnuke and other stuff.

 

I suggested this idea cause I kinda would like to see people have different ways of playing or layout for their ship. Practically everyone goes for the same layout for most of the main ships like most people have ion drive for wb. With this idea, some people will fly slower w/ ion and some will turn faster or have more hp. But i dunno if this idea is that good =/

Sounds alright to me, of course I'm always broke so I guess it wouldn't do much for me...

The idea is nice but I could see how newbs might be left in the dust, it's pretty hard already being a newb but thankfully everyone treats them well.
