uh... actually... does ssme crash as soon as you open it? like... not even open a map with it? if that is the case... SSME is definitly screwed up and we can't do anything about it... I think i've had this problem before too... could be related to registry (file !@#$%^&*ociation perhaps)

Yeah, it probably needs some recoding blum.gif

Edit: yep... eLVL data was saved even with save as ssmecompatible ; fixed

by the way, we'd need to be able to convert tileset to 8bit if we want it 'ssme-compatible'

and Mage:

eLVL stands for extended LVL. If you put regions in your map, that is part of eLVL data. These things are only supported by ASSS servers. BUT ssme should still be able to load these maps fine (without eLVL data of course)

offset of tiles... he was probably refering to... well... i dont want to get into that, you dont have to know the whole structure of a lvl file. Read the wiki if you're interested

ok... I just confirmed that this problem has NOTHING to do with DCME

see this topic

the error is probably the same as you get (see his screenshots, and compare)

It has a link to SSME 0.071a which should work (it worked for that guy)

This guy also had the problem.

So yeah... don't blame DCME blum.gif try that other ssme version, if that doesnt work, well just forget about ssme... There are some other editors, if you absolutly want to work with something else than DCME... try CLT

SSME is like 10 years old... it should be banned or something, it's way too old blum.gif

Also, if your computer is very slow at displaying stuff in DCME, try updating your video drivers... Some people had this issue, and updating their drivers sped up the thing alot. I had a Pentium 3 550MHz with 128MB RAM, and it was working as smoothly as any other editor (selection was a bit slow though). So if you have a decent computer, dcme should run fine

Indeed. 1Ghz - 256mb memory did run it realy slow at first untill i updated my ATI driver (coz of some OpenGL problems).

Works fine for me now.

Mage why dont u read the frigging post, Samp explained what to do and linked u another forum topic about it...

Take a deep breath, count to 5... Realize, oh im still a n3rd who needs to spell check.

Its not like he's talking in 'nerd' about this to you... All the more its quite plain and simple an explanation.

And its DRAKE not drank...

So here's a thought if DCME is too hard for you, delete it, go download SSME from that thread

and only use that, untill you grow up abit more and create some orginal maps and develop abit more skill L3x...
