Bomook Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 If your like me (an IB student that continually procrasinates), you learn that by procrasinate, you can live out life better and when pressure is on you, you can actually do your work. That works in high school because it's easy, but when you get further along in college you get absolutely wrecked if you procrastinate. Not so sure about that... I'm in college (end of 2nd year by now), a huge and hopeless procrastinator, and still have over 3.9 GPA. That doesn't mean I'm not a hardworker, or not paying attention -- to the contrary, I listen very carefully to lectures, read the material, etc, and have a higher ap!@#$%^&*ude for the subject (Comp Sci) then vast majority of people in my class. That being said, when it comes to do a major term project, I procrastinate, and just can't do anything about it. I seem to have a magical knack feeling about the final red line when it comes. That is, I know exactly the day (sometimes hour) when I know I have to start working NOW or it's not getting done on time. Then, I can pump out a few 16-hour workdays if nessecary, and finish it off, usually the night before it's due. I know it's a horrible work habit, and should !@#$%^&* well better change by the time I enter the workplace. I also know I may miss that red point sometime and completely screw my term project. But for now, this works for me, and I'm still getting A's on those projects.I think the type of class is what really matters. Not to say that one is necessarily more difficult than the other, but the learning methods for science and engineering are different. For me, I'll get owned on biology tests if I don't start studying at least a day in advance, whereas I've been able to pull off A's studying only a few hours ahead of math or physics tests.
KoTD Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Well I think he means what to do at 11:40 at night when all your pansy friends go to bed at 9 on a friday night...I like to listen and rock out to music =p i got a pretty !@#$%^&*ty comp, i can barely play warcraft III on low quality without graphic lag, but wc3 bites time quite rapidly if you're into RTS. OTher than that, unreal tournament is always fun for killing short ammounts of time, i only got ut99 cause its the only one that works for me xP but with a few mod packs you can have a lot of fun modding maps. Other than that, see if your friends got mics on their computer, and download ventrilo, find some random server, and chat the nights away. if all else fails browse www.i-am-bored.com or www.break.com and watch random videos. i found some ammusing stuff on break, such as what happens if you put a furby in a microwave. oh, and www.peekvid.com has links for a !@#$%^&*ton of movies, cartoons, tv shows you can watch online. yeah...that's my life in a nuts!@#$%^&*...i went overboard with this...
