»Blocks Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Seems to work just fine upgraded from xp to vista Bit sad it installed the 32 bit OS and i have dual core 64 cpus would like to have taken advantage of that. From what i read the 64bit install files are on the CD i have but have no real clue on how to install that version. I read quickly that you need to boot with the cd to install the 64 bit OS however when doing so. When i go to enter the CD key it says i need to install from Windows.Unless you have applications that take advantage of 64-bit processing, all you'd really gain is potential driver and compatibility issues. I believe that the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista are not on the same DVD (though all editions, Home Basic through Ultimate, are). When I downloaded Vista from MSDN, there were separate 32-bit and 64-bit .iso files. I could be wrong, they may have packaged it differently for retail sale. I am so deaply sorry for all you poor souls enduring the horrors of Windows Vista, may your tortured souls rest in peace ^^Why? From my experience, Vista is just like XP, except prettier. Has anyone tried running subgame under Vista?I just tried it, and it runs. I didn't bother configuring it, but I would suppose everything works until someone shows otherwise.

Synook Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Well... when a new operating system comes out there are always lots of problems in terms of driver incompatabilities... usually they are all sorted out after a while. You could play in software mode in the mean time

rootbear75 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 That's what you get for using Vista Impatient people...dont remember this but heres why: IT COMES WITH ALL NEW COMPUTERS. SOME PEOPLE DONT HAVE CHOICES
Drake7707 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 usually the drivers work for that pc then, otherwise, who the !@#$%^&* uses a preinstalled computer anyway, it's full of junk added usually to compensate the cost of windows
rootbear75 Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) who the !@#$%^&* uses a preinstalled computer anyway, it's full of junk added usually to compensate the cost of windowsim getting a preinstalled computer because of the savings im getting thru the college.it comes with ALL required software, and a 4-year accidental damage warranty. basically, if i !@#$%^&* up the computer, they give me a temporary loaner while they try to fix it, or they give me a new one. If i went to Dell for the same thing, it would be a lot more expensive. http://www.ts.vcu.edu/g2g/images/StudentT.jpg Edited July 15, 2007 by rootbear75
Yavaris Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Seriously, google "dell coupons". I regularly find -400$ coupons for laptops over 1400$. I cant use them since Im from the Netherlands. Might save you a couple of hunderd dollars.
Dav Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Nice thing about a self build is you can check to see if the hardware will have issues before you buy it. I cirtainly wont buy a card with issues for CTM when i get my next PC sorted. For current issues i doubt it will be long before manufactures resolve any issues with cards.
