NBVegita Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I am currently running vista business on my home pc and can get continuum to operate fine. I will run vista premium, and vista ultimate during the week and let you know the outcome, and the solution to getting continuum operating on the new os's if applicable. Let me know if any of your run into any problems with trying to get continuum operational on any Vista platform. I know there has been a similar topic, but as home, home premium, business and ultimate run with different components I'm just evaluating all versions for arguements sake.
AceSpades Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I want to see the continuum window in Vista 3d mode!
NBVegita Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 Lol if you'd really like I can screen shot it for you, let me know if there are any more questions or concerns.
NBVegita Posted February 8, 2007 Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 Or did you want to see it in windowed mode?
PoLiX Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Ok. Few things you could do for me. Try installing anti-spyware, and an anti-virus. Lemme know if any issues with Continuum. I want to see if they continue from XP into Vista.
Samapico Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Nice indeed... but I don't see the use of these 3d windows
NBVegita Posted February 9, 2007 Author Report Posted February 9, 2007 Its actually quite useful when rotating between many windows, or similar windows. I've tested it with programming and its nice.
shadows1991 Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I have tried running continuum on vista and cannot seem to get the radar to work correctly in EG. The radar is there... but the colors are messed up on it. The background is black and each player shows up as a black dot... therefor making the radar... not very useful? I dont know if the greens show up or not, havent seen them though.
»SD>Big Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 running home premium AV: nod32 works fine anti spyware: spybot works well, and it works even better with the vista 1.5 patch which is available on the spybot site when u click news.
»SD>Big Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 nfsmw2 demo: doesnt work, graphics all messed up. i dont know if its the game or my vid drivers. im using catalyst so i'm !@#$%^&*uming its not that, but i have yet to try other games.
NBVegita Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 There are a lot of driver updates, be sure you check to make sure that you are not only up to date, but that all of the updates installed ok. Sometimes they will error out on occasion. As for anti virus I plan to load up a few different ones over the weekend and see the outcome, I'll post it here.

I dont know if the greens show up or not, havent seen them though. I've just tested EG and everything works like a charm. What graphics card are you running, and what version of vista? Again I recommend double checking vista drivers from microsoft. Also check the website for the gfx card you have to see if they have a vista update patch that you might not yet recieve from microsoft. If neither of those solutions work, backup your continuum files, and then completely uninstall, reboot, then reinstall continuum. Another issue could be, as I've had the same problem on various versions of windows, xp included, is that sometimes drivers don't always install 100% correctly, so that you might end up with small graphical problems during limited selected times. I've had said problem with continuum, and outside of it.
»SD>Big Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 ohhh driver updates, of course! lol another prob: soundmax drivers act really funky. i have an asus p5b-deluxe, the vista 32 bit beta drivers off their site work to an extent. they allow 2 channel audio, but in 5.1 there are still only 2 channels. I had to find a different driver off some random site for AD1988_VISTA_61016030 which then worked fine when i tested the 5.1. a big bug: when you turn off UAC (user account control, those annoying 'Allow' messages) and try to install adobe reader 8, it will give u an error saying your temp folder is full or that you can't write to it. i looked online and it seems to be a known issue, you have to leave the error message up, browse to your temp folder and grab the setup files from there, move them to another location and run. sooooo many problemsssss vistaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa oh and even with the soundmax drivers, the sound isn't all that hot, you'd think by now companies would offer a little more then beta drivers.
»SD>Big Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 san andreas works fine, so that means the new catalyst drivers work fine as well.
shadows1991 Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 i just got a new video card and the drivers are up to date. It is a NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS I am also running the business version of vista that i got from my msdn license. I finally got it to work, but not the way i want it . If i put it into windowed mode i can get the minimap to work correctly, but it seems that in full screen when the screen size is in 1600x1200 the minimap just... sucks. :/
NBVegita Posted February 13, 2007 Author Report Posted February 13, 2007 You could always try re-installing. I had a sound driver issue that no matter what I did I couldn't get fixed. But then I reloaded vista and it worked fine.
Guest Bozo! Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Hey man, glad your using Vista, any clue if it will work with the 64Bit version? I am going to order it tomorrow I think. Thanks
NBVegita Posted February 15, 2007 Author Report Posted February 15, 2007 That unfortunately is the one thing I don't have my hands on to test. I can see if we have a version at work that might be able to confiscate, but otherwise I wish you luck! And post your outcome
»1587200 Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Any new developments in the world of Continuum and Vista?
Testtube Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Any new developments in the world of Continuum and Vista? Seems to work just fine upgraded from xp to vista Bit sad it installed the 32 bit OS and i have dual core 64 cpus would like to have taken advantage of that. From what i read the 64bit install files are on the CD i have but have no real clue on how to install that version. I read quickly that you need to boot with the cd to install the 64 bit OS however when doing so. When i go to enter the CD key it says i need to install from Windows.
»Admiral Kirk Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 I am so deaply sorry for all you poor souls enduring the horrors of Windows Vista, may your tortured souls rest in peace ^^
»1587200 Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Has anyone tried running subgame under Vista?
