Alex20 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 !@#$%^&*o, I need a software for Windows that can create PDF files from other do!@#$%^&*ents.. I don't need editing capabilities, so a simple solution that can handle conversion of many do!@#$%^&*ents daily would be great; something like a virtual printer driver that creates PDFs, or some tool that I can point the file and it would create the PDF. I tried a few free ones but they all have some annoying limitations or nags, a commercial product would be acceptable as long as is not very expensive ( under $100 )... Any recommendations?
★ SD>Big Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 try these http://www.pdf995.com/download.html http://www.primopdf.com/ http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp i have tried any of them, so who knows.... basicaly all i did was type "create pdf" in google
🜲 Samapico Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Well, at school we can choose "Adobe PDF Do!@#$%^&*ent" as a printer in any programs... don't know what they use, probably something like adobe pdf writer http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
★ SD>Big Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 adobe acrobat reader (its free) only allows you to view pdf's. you need adobe acrobat full version to create pdf's (appart from using the actualy program, you can set it as a "printer" in word so that it converts your word do!@#$%^&*ent)

Smong Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 (I don't know why this topic was locked, no reason has been given so I'm reopening it). I just tried PrimoPDF, it phones home with a 20 second timeout. I don't know what it's actually doing I blocked it from using the internet.

⛊ Drake7707 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 i believe ms office 2007 can open & save pdf's
Smong Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 cant openoffice save as PDF?I think it can, but it messes up word do!@#$%^&*ents when you open them so the do!@#$%^&*ent needs reformatting. Once I remade a table of contents, but it used some arbitrary font, so I had to change the style of each part of the TOC (each subsection level had non-linked style settings). In the end I think it still didn't match the font of the rest of the do!@#$%^&*ent.
L.C. Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 (edited) Office 2007 Beta2 allows you to save as PDF. So if you can get a copy of that, that would work. If you do get a copy of Office 2007 Beta2, be sure to roll back your system clock a year to prevent it from complaining about it expiring. i believe ms office 2007 can open & save pdf'sJust a few months ago on Slashdot it was reported that Microsoft was taking out the support to save do!@#$%^&*ents in the PDF format due to lawsuits from Adobe to Microsoft over Microsoft using the PDF format, even though it was an open format. 🜲 Samapico Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 *bump* I was searching for a working PDF printer for a while now too... Just found what I was looking for:Foxit PDF (It is 3 separate programs, Reader, Editor and Creator)Foxit PDF Creator is the printer driver thing, you don't need to install the others... When I run the installer, I get an error about creating directory or something, but the printer is still installed correctly... And it seems to work like a charm... There are not 23 dialogs before you can print or anything, you hit Print, you enter a filename, and it creates the file right away Here's the link to the torrenthttp://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/1072968/...r_pack_completo http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
