Technically, to make it into the World Market these days, you need to type fast. I project within 5 years time, programs will be developped a dime a dozen. There are way too many programmers these days with super fast typing skills. Soon what's going to happen is that they're gonna hire guys who can type at 140wpm to program since they'll be able to whip out a program in less than 2 days.. Thats the average typing speed of most programmers. Pretty soon, programs are going to come cheap...

Just LOL. You think programming productivity just comes down to typing speed? Ever heard of requirements? Design?

already, our programming jobs are starting to go to India where Indians are starting to catch up in terms of technological knowledge (Read The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman) -- they type uber fast... average is 150 wpm. thats not bad.

Really, Indians on average can type at beyond-Guinness world record pace on QWERTY keyboards. Somebody call Guinness.

they can whip up a good program within 1 day (reason being is that they are so diligent and they barely make any mistakes in the process of programming that they can do it this fast)..

You obviously have never seen the mangled garbage that gets sent back from a mismanaged Indian outsourcing project after six months.

Don't believe everything you read. Indians do work for $10-20/hr, but you get what you pay for, generally.
