Cannot Get this Game to work anymore

Hi people I just decided to download this game again but I cannot get it to load up. Once I click on the EXE my pointer just flashes all day and I gotta reboot to stop this.

 

Is there a fix for this anywere?

 

comp spex are

 

AM2 5000 processor with a GeForce 6800 and 1 gig mem.

 

Hopefully there is a fix or a workaround for this. Havent been on 17th for a couple of year

We think that this problem is usually caused by an anti-virus, anti-spyware or anti-adware scanner. Try to disable these programs you have running and see if it helps.

Done all that and it still doesnt work.

 

Im using windows XP sp2

 

Its about time this game was updated to work with the newest antvirus and spyware blockers and such.

 

The game loads to the main menu if a select Run As then I select a zone and it gets to about 4 % and then says something like failed to create....

 

any more ideas?

Running the game with "Run As..." option isn't really a solution since it will only create more problems due to Windows's anti-write protection.

 

What firewall, anti-virus and anti-adware software are you using?

Any other software you are using and running on the background that might conflict with Continuum?

I have Nod32 antivirus and zonealarm and I have spyware doctor installed

 

I dont want to uninstal any of these programs just to play this

Aside, what version of Continuum are you running? Have you tried reinstalling it?

are you an administrator on your computer?

if you aren't, ask a system administrator to enable write permissions on the continuum folder.

Make sure you have spyware doctor disabled/uninstalled, I believe that's the source of your problem. (Remember reading about it before)

You probably already tried disabling Nod32 and Zonealarm?

You guys are both right, but to clarify, You should try the v.0.38 version before using the v.0.39 version of the client software (game copy). The 38 works with more stability even if you do have to disable your antivirus and spyware protection software to run it. Also, if you use windows helpers like Windows Defender, and Firewall, these have caused issues with mine in the past. Try temporarily disabling these too.

Sadly, you might be surprised when you'll see it has close to 0 players... 17th isn't what it used to be anymore

Security risks? I never recommend relying on software firewalls and such. Always use a hardware firewall. Too many worm-filled cans to be opened with software firewalls.
