make sure javascript is enabled in preferences (tools/options)

make sure you aren't trying to use a javascript popup while running a popup blocker program

I used to have that problem. I dont exactly remember how I fixed it, but here are some things to try:

Some pop-up blockers interfere with javascript (javascript is whats used to spawn pop-ups on websites). If you have a pop-up blocker, close it and see if that fixes it. If closing it fixes the problem, then look around in the pop-up blockers settings and see if there is anything related to blocking javascipt. If that doesnt fix the problem, in your browser go to tools>options and look around for any java settings and play around with them. If that still doesnt work, get a real web browser ->www.mozilla.org

java and javascript are 2 completely different things, but the options for them are both found in the same area (Tools>Internet Options)

Why would your system spec have anything to do with your problem?

"Yeah, my Pentium IV does that all the time!"

What did you do to your system just before this problem started?

Relevant system specs would be a good next step.
