PoLiX Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Well, the other day I wanted the continuum logo and sound, so I opened it in reshacker, and noticed a few other oddities, nothin big. Well, I was bored again, and had an old hex editor around, and was curious where the "Zone Warning" message comes from anyways. "This name has too many points to play in the selected zone. It is intended for new players only. Please choose another.""Your connection appears to be too slow to play in selected zone. If problem persists, seek help at the Tech Support Forums found at www.subspacehq.com""This name has not logged enough playing hours to enter this zone. Try again when you have more playing time. See zone website for more info (Web Links menu). Meanwhile, please try another zone." Just found it interesting how many un-added hidden features we continue to find. Makes me wonder more about server side things we haven't found yet.
»freakmonger Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 !@#$%^&*, the too many points feature could be used to stop vets from rapeing new players (that is pretending we have enough "new players" to fill a zone) Yes it does make you wonder whatelse is there
»Ceiu Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 All of those were used back in the VIE days. After 2000 points you could no longer play in VIE Alpha and I don't remember which zone it was, but one of them had the hour limitation. The one missing feature that would be useful is the lS2C Weapon packetloss tracking. No idea why Priit decided not to implement it in Continuum...
Drake7707 Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 probably abuse by zone owners, or problems with the security of those features, or he didn't like them
»Ceiu Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 ...or he's a lazy !@#$%^&* who doesn't care about the client that much?

But would be nice to be re-incorporated again. Was just an example of features unused hidden in there.
