Ok so there are a lot of people that are like "i didn't know it was cheating" which is bs, but instead on net ban, why not ban them from the zone they cheated in, that way they can still log into ssc and play some of the "better" zones, or atleast the ones that get some population. And if that player feels its nessasary to keep cheating, then let them slowly get banned from every zone. And for all those how are net-banned can always come play my non-ssc zone :D

Such a thing is already done more or less; usually the people who can netban aren't always online so cheaters are always first banned per zone. However, if a player is found doing it in multiple zones he is netbanned.

SVS/Swift can be more clear about this though.

Check out your zone population statistics at stats.sshq.net!

Cheaters are netbanned for a reason. If they can't be trusted not to cheat in one zone, then why should the council let them play in the rest of the SSC zones? That's the price of cheating. You cheat in one SSC zone, you get banned across the board. Period. Don't cheat and you won't have this problem.

Cheat and get caught in some other games is worse. Like steam, you can never play any Vac secure servers again, and sometimes if a bad enough infraction, they close your account. Your out all the cash you spent on the games, and your !@#$%^&*ed. Atleast this one is free.

If they'll cheat in one zone we don't want them in the community. Its not worth it to say that our game has one more player.

Even with the population decrease? I agree that cheating take away from the game and really is a bad thing, the way i see it, the majority of the people cheating are new players and they don't have the respect for the game. Its these new players that we need to keep continuum going. I know there was a few zones that allowed cheating, but is that even a good thing if it is illegal to cheat while playing continuum, should it be that way for the whole game? And isn't there a way to stop CE, like the way the stop ice, sounds like its time for a continuum .40 to me, that can maybe detect when people are using this software.

population is stable. Best way to prevent population loss is to ban cheaters for as long as possible.

People hate playing in a game full of cheaters.

Cheaters killed subspace. Continuum was the only thing that save it.

Dont cheat - dont get banned. its that simple.

Well said. And I doubt that most cheaters are newbies. The sad cheaters I've come across are all oldies, although most of them were aliased.

I did cheat in the past... with a zone sysop I won't name, some guy came in and advertised (ie spammed) his zone... so we went in there, and started to rape the !@#$%^&* out of everyone with cheats, and the owner of the zone (only staff) was afk lol. It was some small newbie zone. The guy I was with was able to guess the sysop password, and could spam the ?help with tons of crap...

ah... good times.

I have played this game for a very long time, actually plenty long enough to be called a loser ten fold over. Never once have I cheated. I think the reasonable behavior is obvious, and I think that indefinite nebanning is reasonable. Cheaters really do ruin the game for most patrons.
