»Maverick Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Not alot of memory, only 512 mb. If it was about 1 GB I would call it a sharp price, now it's just a not bad price.
»doc flabby Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 That system will date very quick. integrated Graphics means no pretty vista stuffvista needs 2gb memory minimum really...hard disk is small. There are better deal about
»1587200 Posted January 11, 2007 Author Report Posted January 11, 2007 Didn't plan on putting Vista on it. The intergrated graphics would be replaced, and 80GB is large enough for me.
NBVegita Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 vista doesn't need 2gb, I run it just fine on my test pc at work with only 1gb.
»Blocks Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 vista needs 2gb memory minimum really...vista doesn't need 2gb, I run it just fine on my test pc at work with only 1gb.I am running Vista with 1.25 GB, works fine, and according to the RAM-o-meter in the corner, only uses half of that. I would still say wait around for a slightly better deal.
»SD>Big Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 you can def find a better deal, there are always specials at big electronic stores, however the real gems are to be found online at ebay and craiglists and stuff like that.
X`terrania Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 If if you have extra money then buy it..

NBVegita Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 And unless you plan to do some developing, or just want to have that PC for a good long while, you could save some money without going duo. It's really overkill for most people nowadays.
»1587200 Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 I plan on doing development and other things that the duo would be nice for. I'm currently running XP Pro, but the disk I have only works with my HP hardware. I've tried installing it else where and it tells me I can only use it on the pc that it came with, then exits out. So I need to get another copy, and I want it to be legit.

»1587200 Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 Laptop, and yes I have the hardware.
rootbear75 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 OS: Microsoft XP Pro Sp2 $140why not go to vista?
»SD>Big Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 there are a lot of specials going around where if you buy xp now, you get a free upgrade to vista. as well vista isn't released yet so its not an option for him. however syrus, if you happen to have xp pro cd laying around with a pirated cd key, or xp corp/unatended version (ie. no activation required) I have a keygen and a wga fix that legits the random key generated. no more "your copy of xp isn't genuine" messages, you can get IE7, wmp 11 and all the updates for free! pm me if you want it
SVS Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 If you plan on playing any games Syrus I would get a better graphics card. Other then that the rest of the stuff you picked is passable.
»1587200 Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 Thanks SD, but I'd rather have a legit copy. Btw, from what I've found, you only get the free Vista upgrade if you purchase the Xp Pro Upgrade. I haven't found a Vista upgrade with a full version of Xp yet. Thanks for your blessing SVS, but what's wrong with that vid card?
»SD>Big Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 well i have one more trick up my sleeve!! when u install xp and its no legit you get the WGA warning, if you call microsoft or go on their site and buy their WGA kit which is basicaly a legit copy of xp with a legit cd key, its much much less then the retail. i did it for 1 customer and it was 99 canadian, that's cheap! and legit
