Death+ Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 umm wonderer owns subspace.net not sure who owns subspace.comfreak, After CyberRise was lied to by nameless people with fake logs he left the game. (ask cyberrise, polix or rowen for the full story.) He sold the site to GodSpeedJAM!! who then after he went nuts sold it to the current domain owner Mr.Ahmed Farooq, using SubSpace.NET for anything major as it is would be very risky , at any time Mr.Ahmed Farooq could be pissed off and kill the site. (FLASH BACK:Remember beginners.subspace.net ? Although i said that, I view Ahmed as a very cool person, no disrespect to him at all he is great guy.)
PoLiX Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Put your re!@#$%^&*ed personal differences aside and help make ONE site. Me and D+ have talked about this. But lot of SSCentral Staff/Admins and him have some harsh points with each other. If everyone would drop the !@#$%^&*, and we'd all focus together, some good !@#$%^&* could happen. I'd honestly have no problem working with D+, and am working to try and figure out a way to stabilize sscentral.com better (Which may end up being getting a VPS to control everything ourselves) and have everything running smooth again. We've got the dedicated people, it is just me, the leader, is having some issues. Swift has his thing with WOW now, and mostly just handles the license for these forums now a days. I've stepped back in and taken the reigns, and T-Man will keep the domain alive as long as it is used, so we're safe there. I wanted this done by Jan 1st, but sometimes life takes priority, and the team agreed. But it is a still alive project, don't think it is dropped. I still do some content when I'm bored and my bro lets me chill on this for a while. I need to find a time to talk to Bajan, Death+, and Rowen, and figure !@#$%^&* out again.

L.C. Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 I think once this is all done it should be centralized on subspace.net like it once was. I remember this game for CybeRise' lead on subspace.net and I've always viewed subspace.net as the "official" website. Pretty. Hehe.

Death+ Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 L.C, For now I only have some of the required money to purchase SubSpace.NET saved up. I figured use SubSpace.WS for now which would easily transfer too SubSpace.NET which I hope to finish saving up for. So for now SubSpace.NET is out of reach. O and yeah, Polix and I have discussed for countless hours what he and myself want to do. My goals do not clash with his at all, it would work nicely together, we have worked together in the past so I am not against it. Just the issue is I am the devil reborn or something like that and my first born must be killed apparently. Something along those lines is felt by some members over at our SubSpace Council, this is what Ghost Ship(head of SSC biller) and MTN(head of council list) tell me(no jokes here). So !@#$%^&* it me and friends will do our own thing. Although the same people also feel the same way about Polix, but in all honesty !@#$%^&* the drama and e-penis children that exist in this game we need more in this game and less . Hopefully 2006 was the last year of , we cant handle many more of that.
»Ceiu Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 @Everyone:SyrusMX has it right. Everyone needs to stop trying to be the "hero" who will unite SS. Freakmonger and others have made some good steps, but they need to stop being inactive/distracted/apethetic and unite themselves. Only then will we get a centralized go-to site. Also, the domain name doesn't matter all that much. Yeah it'll help the google ranking a bit to have a Subspace site on the subspace.ext domain, but with enough hits it won't matter much. @DeafPwas:You're currently in the top 10 contributors of eDrama in this game, !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*. I've heard several stories of you personally trying to have zones and sites shutdown on a whim. I don't care what everyone else thinks/says. Your involvement in a central site (and more importantly: this game) is non essential and should be avoided at all costs. Oh, and for the record: Cerium, 12/2/2006 3:10:28 PM:... Cerium, 3:10:38 PM:you need to do everyone a favor and ban death+ Cerium, 3:10:39 PM:better yet Cerium, 3:10:41 PM:murder him Ghost Ship, 12/6/2006 1:17:38 PM:LOL, why? (this time ) Cerium, 2:25:42 PM:why? Jesus, do you have to ask? Cerium, 2:26:15 PM:That kid will prove to be a severe thorn in your side so long as you choose to be "in charge" of subspace Cerium, 2:26:54 PM:I've personally seen the behind the scenes bull!@#$%^&* he pulled with HS, and I imagine more zones will follow unless they adhear to his "I have absolute control" nonsense Cerium, 2:27:16 PM:also, if memory serves me correctly, he was also a major player in the Halo cluster!@#$%^&* Ghost Ship, 2:41:42 PM:yep Cerium, 2:52:26 PM:heh. You're just agreeing with me to shut me up =P Ghost Ship, 2:53:04 PM:Its a 2fer, its true and you shut up all at the same time, so it works for me I said nothing of killing your first born...
»doc flabby Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 guys stop !@#$%^&*ing. The game is 10 years old this year. I think taking sides too quickly is always a stupid thing to do. Just because you don't like someone does not mean they cannot contribute. 2007 is going to be an exciting year in subspace.
»Maverick Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Just a small reply about the subspace.net matter: Though subspace.net or subspace.com (Last i heard, it was on sale for 5000) might be priceyFor now I only have some of the required money to purchase SubSpace.NET saved up You can buy the domain subspace.net via Sedo.com, like I tried to do: You see he's asking rediculous amounts of money for such a domain, it's pointless to even try. Bidding on a domain via Sedo isn't really a joke since it's legally binding but unfortunately he seems to think it is. I'd say thinking about buying subspace.net would be a dead end right now.
»doc flabby Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Let him keep the domain if he wants it. Its pretty much useless and has zero value. Its been banned from google. I think because of the SEO spam that it was hosting for ages. if you search for subspace or even "subspace.net" or "http://subspace.net"the domain name does not appear in any of the search results except as being meantioned on other websites
LiveForce Posted January 7, 2007 Author Report Posted January 7, 2007 Let him keep the domain if he wants it. Its pretty much useless and has zero value. Its been banned from google. I think because of the SEO spam that it was hosting for ages. if you search for subspace or even "subspace.net" or "http://subspace.net"the domain name does not appear in any of the search results except as being meantioned on other websites Interesting. Multiple sites work just fine, as long as they're all inter-linked and the 'official' site is clear. I think we should get AdWords advertising for getcontinuum.com.
»Ceiu Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 You can request to have the site ban reviewed you know. Google understands that domains change hands periodically and they wont ban a site/domain for life based on what one idiot does with it.
Ophie Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 well like i said... subspace.com is around 5000 bucks... not subspace.net tho dont know what the real price for subspace.net is.. if its cheaper, go for it.... but death, instead of paying it all for yourself, you should get the SS Community to help pitch in. It will give them a sense of solidarity and contribution to the game. Don't let your ego take over dude
»freakmonger Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 nobody should pay that much for any domain for subspace.
Ophie Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 well theres nothing else that can be done about it ... if we have to pay that much for an ss site, then i guess its what its worth. there's really not much that can be done about it. once ss.net or .com has been purchased, another thing that must be done is to determine what SSCentral.com becomes. it can't just be another SS.com website... it has to be a speciality site, or it just has to be dead ...
»freakmonger Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Polix, how about adding player pictures to the project?
»freakmonger Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 ah yea..the profiles. lol we even spoke about that in game :/
AhmedF Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 You silly plebians. Lets get some things right. 1. Subspace.com is not available for $5000. Try $100,0002. Subspace.net is not 'banned' from search engines. Anyone who knows more than SEO 101 knows that when you 301 a domain, Google removes it from the listings. In this case, all the 'search-engine juice' of subspace.net goes to GetContinuum.com. Restoring ss.net would take all of a week. Good job 'doc flabby' - you are an SEO expert 3. I sent over 100,000 people from my other gaming sites to SS.net. Let me know if any single one of you have broken 1000 people.4. I paid $5000 for this domain. $60 is a pittance and not even worth my time. The old adage applies - ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. Ask me with a stupid offer, get a stupid counter-offer. You guys whining about $5000 for a domain make me laffle 5. Sedo's 'legally-binding' bull!@#$%^&* is exactly that - bull!@#$%^&*. They won't do jack to you. Definitely not for a domain under $10k.6. I don't like non-SVS. That has been established since day one. The non-SVS zones broke the rule of not hosting other zones contents, so really - quit your whining you babies7. I did have a design made. I have a web-dev firm, getting a site up is not an issue. But I realized a while ago - the people in Subspace are such fantastic !@#$%^&*ing reASSS why would I want to help you idiots? The reality is that I would never ever talk to 90% of you in real-life. What do I gain from setting up a site? Especially since you non-SVSers will do what you do best - whine whine whine whine8. 'Get pissed off and kill the site' - huh? If this is a reference to MR - well then, I have this to say about that: I'm not banned, which should say enough about that. I also setup INDEprac on my own for Premier League, which is what motivated UL to create his UL Bot. Not to mention I helped UL with quite a bit of his system, from general PHP/MySQL security to other tweaks.9. Wonderer is a squaddie of mine. I know he isn't a !@#$%^&*head.10. Get a job you ingrates. Have to add: 11. Anyone who thinks ss.net or subspace is any sort of 'business opportunity' for me has to get their head examined. You are obviously a moron.
»freakmonger Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 if you paid $5000 for that you need to be shot. I'd like to see some kind of comfirmation of this besides you saying it. And who in their right mind would buy a domain for $100,000. Its doing you no good right now, and its not going to sell for that price so get what you can WHILE you can.
AhmedF Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 freakmonger - I like you, but since you obviously have no clue how domains work, I highly suggest your yap about domains. Domains go for $100,000+ all the time. Domains (alone) make $100,000+ all the time (top ones like Spyware.com make $10k+ a day). So shhhhhh .... And shot for having paid $5000? Again, refer to the word 'plebian'
»freakmonger Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Yea, domains like microsoft.com..not a domain for subpsace, a player ran game.
AhmedF Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 I'm sorry, I didn't get the memo where I have to be poor to play SubSpace. Send it to me if you find it.
»freakmonger Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 yea, right after you send me the memo when you sell the site for $100,000
