[Topic split - click here for the hot debate on coding languages] oh god don't start about switching to !@#$%^&* again.Switching to ASSS with 17th is not an option (hosting-wise). Just try to find a better host then priitk's server.Actually, we were offered a spot on Death's server if we wanted to switch to ASSS, so it is an option hosting-wise.But as Cubs said, it's not an option worth choosing if you look at what we could do with it.First of all it would take a lot more time than it will do to finish the bot for the new pub we're developing.But that doesn't mean that we'll forget all about ASSS and not think about the possibilities it brings.But it would just be pointless to switch right now as we wouldn't be able to use its potential. And either way, even if we would switch to ASSS, we would definitely need a solid gameplay first, and then use ASSS as a tool to bring a lot kool extra features to an already established gameplay.But right now we're just starting to give that gameplay form and shape. It'll be a lot of fun when it's done. ASSS would take it to another level, but that's a level we have to work ourselves up to.ASSS would be used to widen the player's gaming possibilities, within the 17th gameplay, using the 17th gameplay as a base.It'll only happen after a lot of consideration and investigation as we have to know as much of what'll happen after we do such a big move as possible.The coders to do the job would also have to be reliable to work with, that's another thing to keep in mind, we can't just give the job to the first person who says he can do ASSS. Sort of like the old pub bot, except for turf rather than balling.Believe it or not, it's a bit more complicated than it may sound. At least to get it to work the way it's supposed to. The map for the new pub needs to be turf flagging, the kind of turf as in ?go Control with several flag rooms containing 1 or 2 flags each. Quote

The TW person creemy got help from said he'll start working on the bot next week.But if that doesn't work then noriaki seems to be interested. He says it's pretty easy, and he's willing to do it when he gets time. Quote

If the zone with most players in SubSpace uses it then it must be for a reason. Either way, that doesn't necessarily mean that we've decided to only use TWCore. We'll use what we see fit for what we need. But I am surprised that you make such an announcement so soon >;D TW has the most players because it's never !@#$%^&*ed about with - they leave it alone when it's working... 17th has/is failed and will fail for the same reason. Just because they use it doesnt make it amazing... and as for bots. 17th's biggest failing is that it's overly bot heavy... we don't need so many god!@#$%^&* bots. Quote

We do however need a bot adjusted for a turf pub.If there is a bot that has already been made and only need some adjustments and has proven to work, then that's probably what we'll be using, no matter what language.
