MillenniumMan Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Merry Christmas to the SubSpace community. A somewhat early Christmas present for all of you who've wanted to see Thirdspace's gutssplayed out all over the pavement for public viewing. A few words of note: If you don't know what the 3dRad or 3Impact development engines are, go no further. You'll hurt your head trying to figure out what to do with the source. Time and time again, when the team came close to release, something would get screwed up.Now that the source and files are public, it's easy to get help at all hours of the day. Now that the source is public, more ideas can be thrown into the public arena and bettercode can be had and a stable version of the game can take fruit. If you have a copy of 3Drad or 3impact to compile all of this, please let me - MillenniumMan or T4 - Judgement Dayknow how well the source is working for you. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/josephgrant/millpimp.gif Some source filesObjectsSoundsAnd the SHIPS!

MillenniumMan Posted December 26, 2006 Author Report Posted December 26, 2006 cool, can't wait to copyright it and sue you for distributing... ho ho ho Burned it all to CD, had the postoffice date stamp it, just as good and legal as a notary public mark ,,!,.
»jabjabjab Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Lol.. yeah.. i wish i could work on with the map editor like I've said 3 times Prob not programing it but helping with ideas and such.. form a ss chat for thirdspace JabJabJab
MillenniumMan Posted January 2, 2007 Author Report Posted January 2, 2007 we dont need another map editor *SLAP* If you want to create new maps and stuff for the game, the collisions are in .3ds format and the visuals are DirectX. Just use Milkshape or something. PS, for the visuals, the BMP and JPG files used to skin objects in the engine being used have to be multiples of 2, EG; 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024 and 2048.
MillenniumMan Posted January 4, 2007 Author Report Posted January 4, 2007 becuase of mip mapping ? Stripes for Mr. Drake... This isn't the quality of Q4's engine, the models arent wrapped like they could be in Q4 or unreals engine. This is more the level of Q1 or Q2 as far as graphics goes but this engine uses DirectX instead of OpenGL for rendering. Now if you'll excuse me, my GF and I need to go break some things
»doc flabby Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 anyone have a copy of the files they have disappeared
MillenniumMan Posted January 6, 2007 Author Report Posted January 6, 2007 anyone have a copy of the files they have disappeared reposting them now
MillenniumMan Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 Well, jabjabjab has decided that he wants to work on this game as well. His input I'm sure will be beneficial. Who knows, he might fix that nasty collision detection problem that's been vexing this effort for years.
Drake7707 Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 [offtopic]don't even start about collision detection ... stupid bug in DCME grmblgrblml [/offtopic] gl, hope it progresses well
»jabjabjab Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 hehe. so you're saying i will have to program this baby? lol. I need to learn c/c++ first, and i dont know where to get it. but i know how t trace problems in the systems by the errors it receives like dll's and some other stuff i cant think of at the moment but lol id like to learn alot from this expirement and i have grerat faith on this thing because i know millenniumMan is too. Been waiting for 2 years on you man. <3 JabJabJabJab P.S. what if you can make a gravity on each flat side of a tile and make it 100% hard andbarely going around the tile with a radius? wouldent that make a bounce without coliding into the object with that error you said.. makes scence that repeling for a smal second with the right amont of hardness makes it act like a mock of a bounce.
»D1st0rt Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Wasn't that your entire argument for not releasing the source?
»jabjabjab Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Lol. D1st0rt, scince MillenniumMan needed help with this.. I decided to lay off on that closed source deli boper. W/e. I'm glad to see its starting to unfold. so w/e. JabJabJab
Doom$_Bomb Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 me i say gogogo jabjab we need ppl like u to keep up this funny game that weve spended so much time try to populate it with so much fun zone. 3D continuum would be so amazing and fun that i would spend another 10k hours on it still i got a question will zone that r currently on continuum will be transferable to 3d continuum ? and keep like same setts same shipset and tileset ?
»jabjabjab Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Ofc not. From what i see dear bomber, Is that million man in making a 3d server version, or making a client thats flexible or something. you will see soon enough. <3 JabJabJab
MillenniumMan Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 It's a shame that the continuum client wasn't open source like Duke Nukem 3D. Some of you probably have seen the enhancements made in D3D with real quake3 models built around the original software. If that could have been done with continuum, we would already have a completed client
»jabjabjab Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Uhh.. That's um kkkkkaaaayyy.. Btw Priitk's server was a hacking program onto continuum. Maybe you can do the same... probably form it into a server file or something.. or just create youre own client that can hook up with both 2d continuum and 3d Cointinuum (your's.. Make it flexible.) That could be possible. JabJabJab ... and we really need the luck.
Drake7707 Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 just rewrite from scratch, might avoid the bugs from continuum as well.
»jabjabjab Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 cybersnipe7: dude if u trying to fix a collision proublem with ur file just download the field that they have on the site that says has collision detection and extract the code and insert it in current project
true_vision Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Well from what I remember ppl had a Subgame version of 3d Subspace ( IF I DO REMEMBER THIS CAN BE NOT TRUE ) but oo well like drake said , Start from scratch and recode it =P
MillenniumMan Posted January 25, 2007 Author Report Posted January 25, 2007 Well from what I remember ppl had a Subgame version of 3d Subspace ( IF I DO REMEMBER THIS CAN BE NOT TRUE ) but oo well like drake said , Start from scratch and recode it =P Ahh... you're remembering mine and T4's version of subspace3d for the continuum client where he did all the ortho map tiles and I did ships and stuff.
»jabjabjab Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Wheeeeeeeeeee. I seriously need to actuly play in it b4 i can get more ideas for it. MillenniumMan maybe you should set it up for us to play in while you're making the rest of this one, okay? JabJabJab
