Mr. Right Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 !@#$%^&*o friends, just want to let you know that Project X SSCI Red Planet is up, running on an SSCI server. The zone is a pseudo 3d isometric based concept that pushes (and literally pushes) the client's abilities to the MAX; so much so, that the development team was forced to stop adding additional .lvz files and graphics (though we are working to byp!@#$%^&* that). This zone is brought to you by yours truly and the SSCI development team. For further information (seeing as I'm kinda tired to post more info about the zone), visit our forums at: http://redplanet.sscontinuum.comScreenshots comming shortly. UPDATE YOUR ZONE LISTS TODAY!
»1587200 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Sounds like fun, too bad it's on SSCI.
L.C. Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Too bad you have feelings over a server. It's the zone that counts, primarily. The zone is very well made by the way.
Slipped Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Looks a !@#$%^&* of a lot like the old Paradigm zone, which was alright for a little while. Regularly playing gets boring (took me about 1 minute to get tired of it). Not to mention the hour long download.
L.C. Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Formal installer, Unofficial Mirror (Highly recommended due to the extremely low capped download speeds through ingame downloading; be smart, download via HTTP!): http://www.hlrse.net/files/Unrelated/Subsp...stallerFull.exe
Mr. Right Posted December 1, 2006 Author Report Posted December 1, 2006 Screenshots. These were taken in the morning after the zone was released: Ore Factory (work in progress; ball goal): Big D.'s kick!@#$%^&* hoverpod from underground station: Barracks (where players spawn): Bridge over toxic moat (to island base) Nexus look-a-like flagging room thing: A base: The zone files are around 7mb. To save you time, just download the zone files here Extract Location: C:\Program Files\Continuum\zones\SSCI Red Planet. Have fun friends, and stay tuned to progressive programming upates to the zone.

Incomplete Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Looks really cool, i'll try it out later.
nikegurl637 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Too bad they booted off Hyperspace for this zone.
I\/Ir Beefie Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Sounds like fun, too bad it's on SSCI. Haha, thats funny.
gameplay Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Too bad they booted off Hyperspace for this zone. Not just this zone, more to come. And yes, they are all working with "us".
rootbear75 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 another thing, refreshing zone list doesnt help cause the only directory i get service from is ssdir.playsubspace.comnone of the others work. do you have an IP/Port #, etc.. that i could add manually?
»doc flabby Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 just a heads up the 7mb download is not worth it graphics do not make gameplay. hyperspace was better and far more inovative. gg killing a good zone and replacing it with a crap one.
»Maverick Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 another thing, refreshing zone list doesnt help cause the only directory i get service from is ssdir.playsubspace.comThe main directory server, sscentral.sscuservers.net is working fine as you can see here. For other directory servers, look here.

Yes there are many flaws, keep in mind HS wasnt perfect at the start, remmeber how many changes brain made. PJX is bare, only 1 module has been set, no objectives, we have a lot planned. Be patient and again, we didnt replace HS, they left so red planet took the port. HS was not killed just for the entry of red planet
»Swift Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 I'm suprised they actually made the point to argue where their forums were hosted at. With the lack of attacks we've raised against their site (which doesnt affect me in the least) they continue to pursue their own personal vendetta's and views against the rest of the Community or the Administrator's of SSFN. Alas, that went off-topic. As far as I am concerned about anything SSCI related is that it lacks interest and therefore it lacks taste. Although T4-Judgement Day does make some good graphics, I dislike the way it was pushed on top of HS's old slot. Kind of like a smack across the face. Later.

Today (specifically in the middle of the night) I found out the actual reason why Hyperspace was kicked out/removed from SSCI, and it still bothers me b/c the owner did help me out back in the day with my old projects (which actually led to this). I honestly thought that it was going to released from our original port (it's own port, which was just hidden from directory servers). Now I'm in the middle of another episode of drama that I desperately tried to avoid in the first place. Is there a possiblility of both parties comming to a resolution (as to why HS was removed the way it was) so I wouldn't have regrets releasing the zone in the first place (which would be ripping my hair out, or what's left of it)?

We aren't mad at all at SSCI if that's what you mean.
»doc flabby Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 the only people annoyed are the players who enjoyed playing hyperspace zone
Incomplete Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Put hyperspace in a sub arena so at least they can play it.

And again, it bothers me b/c of what I have mentioned previously.
Yoink Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Poor settings. Yeah it's pretty, but it'll die like Paradigm did, for the same reasons.
gameplay Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 No, it'll be developed further. Much more to come from this zone. This is just an initial release.
