Sieges Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 I recently started playing this game after reading about it on Digg.com. I'm a n00b, so I get shot down far more often than I shoot others down I was thinking about the score resets that happen every two weeks... it be cool if your "High Score" for a particular zone was stored and displayed next to your current score in the client scoreboard (for all to see). If you happened to beat your previous high score at the end of the two week period, your new high score would replace what was stored. If you didn't beat your high score, then the old high score would remain.
»Maverick Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 There is no way of getting the score of a player out of the zone without using all kind of complex bots everywhere, especially now the scores site has gone completely down and won't ever get back up. Good idea but for the time being I would rate it as undoable.
Witchie NL Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 can be done with bots and lvz. But your new. So i can tell you there is practicly 0 development in the game. This idea needs to be done in the server which has 0 development and the client needs to be modified for that aswell which has 0,0000001 development. So i set 10 euro's to the fact this wont happen unless the game is completely recoded.
Smong Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 What WitchieNL says is a half truth. The game is still being developed for, there just aren't any updates to the client. Anyone is free to run their own server with custom settings, graphics, etc. You have a good idea, but it probably won't happen in the near future.
Sieges Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 Yeah, I'm new. The game is fun and I hope that development doesn't stop. The modified screen shot below shows what I was dreaming of (click to enlarge and view the score area). Having your all-time high score for the zone up by your current score would be both bragging rights and provide a personal challenge to beat it:http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/7079/screenshot1ou6.th.png
Samapico Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 points dont mean much in every zone either... but... emmm..especially now the scores site has gone completely down and won't ever get back up.that sucks bad
Sieges Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Posted October 28, 2006 Maybe having your high score saved in the zone and displayed via the client would help off-set the scores site going down. Who is responsible for the source code for this game? Is it really not going to be developed any more? I wish I would have found this game 10 years ago.
L.C. Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 I contacted the owner of Sonera weeks ago, never got a call back. :\ I guess the scores are gone forever, like most people are saying now. A truly motivated coder who does what PriitK did (make Continuum from the ground up) might revive the population.
Witchie NL Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 <-- Motivated yes, Experienced enough NO.
