Yzen Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 THE FOLLOWING IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR ONE ZONE! IT IS INTENDED AS AN INVITE AND INFORMATIVE PURPOSES FOR THIS ZONE’S COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A MULTI-ZONE EVENT WHICH IS TO BE HOSTED BY SSCX WarZoneCTF. To celebrate and honor 10 years of SubSpace/Continuum, the original MMOG that started it all, SSCX WarZone CTF will be hosting its first annual WZ Invitational Game. Please come represent your zone and compete against others in this new tradition to kick off the beginning of another decade of fun. What is the WZ Invitational? WZ Invitational is a single SVS Capture The Flag game. Each team that participates is a direct representation of a Zone of SubSpace/Continuum as each team will ONLY consist of players of that respective zone (i.e. EGvTWvWZvCZvSWZvMGvT3) How many players should be recruited per team? How many teams are allowed? It is suggested that at least 15 players and up to 30 should be on each team. This allows for each team to have an adequate amount of spectators and subs. One team ONLY will be allowed to represent their respective zone. What should the Zone elected Captain do once he/she is selected? Each team’s captain should contact Yzen at yzen@wzctf.net with a complete list of the team roster. Also a preferred day and time that will best accommodate his/her team should be submitted. The captain is responsible for getting his team ready with practice time (whether it privately scheduled with other teams or not) and direct coordination with this Event’s Coordinator (Yzen). Zone elected Captains are also responsible for management of their respective teams (rostering, communication with teammates, starting lineups, etc.). How long will the game last for? This Invitational game will have an unlimited time limit. Intense and compe!@#$%^&*ive WarZone games have been known to last upwards in the range of 3 hours (although not common). Are there any restrictions to gameplay? No. Anything goes. Just remember that your team must collect all 8 flags and hold them for 60 seconds for the win. Will there be a prize for the winning team? Yes. A banner will be created and showcased in SSCX Warzone CTF main spawn arena which will depict the winning team. This will enable the winning zone bragging rights for having “The Best of the Best†of Subspace/Continuum flaggers until the next WZ Invitational. Any additional prizes or side bets optional and open for discussion. When is the Invitational going to be held? The Invitational game will be held no later than two weeks prior to WZL preseason (or WZAML). Plenty of time will be allotted from the date of this posting so that all teams will have adequate time to practice with SVS settings if they are not used to them. Actual game date and time to be announced.
rootbear75 Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 sweet! this is gonna be cool. I think we should do a biller-wide tournament, with teams from each zone playing matches in each of their zones.so like round one would be WZ. round two would be EG, round three would be TW, and so on. This is gonna be awesome!
Halt Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Are Warzone settings going to be used? If so.. isn't that a slight advantage over every other zone?
rootbear75 Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 yea... thats what i was thinking... WZ players are gonna have a big advantage since they know the settings and the ships
Yzen Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 yea... thats what i was thinking... WZ players are gonna have a big advantage since they know the settings and the ships All other teams will have plenty of time to practice the old SVS settings before the game commences. Vets from any zone shouldnt have a problem with this. I personally expect the supership zones to be very competative due to the fact that the gameplay will be slower. Also, those zones that do not utilize prox 'should' be more acurate. It will be an interesting game.
rootbear75 Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 where do the individual zones sign up?
Yzen Posted November 9, 2006 Author Report Posted November 9, 2006 where do the individual zones sign up? Please have your zone's captain email me yzen@wzctf.net with the subject ZONE roster. Please supply the ZONE team roster and the best day of the week and time of day that would best fit your team. Also I have just created ?chat=wzi - have your teammates join this chat to talk, trash talk, etc. other zone / cross-zone players who will be participating in this game. As soon as I get all the rosters in I will announce who is playing and the date and time of the invitational game. Any questions / comments can be emailed to me yzen@wzctf.net. Your expediency is most appreciated. -y

Yzen Posted November 10, 2006 Author Report Posted November 10, 2006 talking to a few of the zonesmost people actually don't care for thisi talked to the TW staff, and they don't have any plans to do thisdunno how many teams ur gonna get.... Ive got 5 teams (including WZ) confirmed so far. A total of 8 is my goal and a lot of ppl from TW I've talked to are interested in fielding a team. I will announce the teams that will participate when I get the remainder of the rosters in. Anyways I hope that if you are interested that you join a team as I think that this could be fun for everyone involved.
rootbear75 Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 huh... i posted on the forum to try and get a team started and they shot it down.
Yzen Posted November 10, 2006 Author Report Posted November 10, 2006 6 zone teams have confirmed so far, 3 probables, 1 on the fence and 6 unconfirmed. I havent gotten any absolute No's from any zone, but I wish I would if there are since I will have to make a No list to put them on it. This takes a lot of my time and energy to coordinate this across 15 different zones and I dont have much to spare chasing No's. If any zone would like me to supply a cfg to upload into a sub so ppl can practice let me know. Im thinking of a game date either a couple of days before Thanksgiving or a week before Christmas. Also, once I get all the team rosters in I will foward them to all the confirmed captains 3 days before the match. -y
Smong Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 15 zones, hmm well SSCI Pirates! probably isn't even on the list of unconfirmed zones but there won't be a team from there (I'm speaking as the owner).
Yzen Posted November 12, 2006 Author Report Posted November 12, 2006 Sry smong but I couldnt find any forums for pirates and everytime ive ever been there (which isnt many) it hasnt had enough active ppl to field a team. Should your community have enough ppl and want to play yall are more than welcome to participate as every zone is. There is still adequate time left.
