kentbrockman Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 839 have said the website design is ugly...... i dont really think so, but either way - 839!!!! everybody already spoke. change the poll so i can vote on something again Quote
Tiq Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Good point. That is (probably) one of the reasons why I never go www.17thparallel.com anymore Quote
Hakaku Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Some of the pages on the website are misleading too (such as zone events page I think)... but yeah, time for a new poll Quote
»Maverick Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 The poll is so darn old.. it's probably running for over a year. I used to set this question to get a new website going. Â Current 17th Parallel website is an incredible mess and chaos of !@#$%^&* tied together by pieces of string hanging from the ceiling. It's not maintainable or updatable by far. !@#$%^&*, even modifying the poll is a day job. Â Instead of modifying the poll the website should be trashed and burned and a new one be made. Quote
The Cubbies Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I believe that's what aelig said to me also. Problem is he doesn't seem to be making much ground on the new site. Quote
»Maverick Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Problem is that most people think it's just an easy job you do in a few hours while it's not Quote
Incomplete Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Start it from scratch, put games, top 5 players, top 5 squads and a load of other features. Also keep it updated for !@#$%^&* sake! Quote
Delic Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Never liked that version of 17thParallel.com, Nurples' was much better even when it wasn't being updated ;/ Oh and the forums ;/ When we could say we were an independent zone.. The cause of problem was the klazzik.. relying on unreliable people to do the job for you when you're too läzy.. ..hoping you know who I mean with "you" wööt I'm on some Da Vinci Code sh1t! Quote
The Cubbies Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 I deciphered it! "On DaVinci Code Sh1t" == "I'm a complete re!@#$%^&*"Is that close? Quote
MikeTheNose Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 If it sounds insane, acts insame, has an insanity complex; then it just might be too insane to matter. Quote
Incomplete Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 So is anything going to be done with the site? Quote
Delic Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 I deciphered it! "On DaVinci Code Sh1t" == "I'm a complete re!@#$%^&*"Is that close? It depends, really. If your answer is directed to the whole encryption then yes, you're absolutely correct. However, you might have missed the A and B & the X and Y. So if you only answered to the text you quoted then I'm afraid you're terribly wrong.I tried to give a as clear hint as possible while still keeping the Secret Message as a whole elusive by saying "..hoping you know who I mean with 'you'". But, as I tried to subliminally communicate to The Receiver (in hopes that he'd completely comprehend The Message at a later date), the key to the whole message becomes obvious as soon as you figure out who that "you" is.As most creatures who have been placed in a different category than animals for their human intelligence would know, "you" in this käse is not really in static form.If you take it out of context, it might as well mean "me" (I), in which case it would become a recoded code (coded code). This isn't as complicated as it sounds really, it can be compared to the mirror reflection of a coded text (reverse writing like da Vinci's doesn't really count as a code though). If you did understand all of this, then I am truly amazed, for I too believe that you're a complete re!@#$%^&*. Incomplete Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 I actually understand some of that lol I'll ask again. Is anything going to happen with www.17thparallel.com? Quote
kentbrockman Posted October 31, 2006 Author Report Posted October 31, 2006 i will save staff and webmasters the time, and tell the answer.... nope. Quote
MikeTheNose Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 If A equals success, then the formula is: A = X + Y + Z, X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut. - Albert Einstein Quote
Incomplete Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 I wouldn't expect any useful information to come from Mike. Just hire another heshe sysop to get your balls wet Quote

X`terrania Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Everyone knows that I would beat mike up irl. Quote
kentbrockman Posted November 3, 2006 Author Report Posted November 3, 2006 this website really doesnt need php or mysql... do it in basic html, and by doing so youll never have a problem finding someone cabable of doing it Quote
»Maverick Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 You can even !@#$%^&* up a HTML website (coding wise) if you don't do it right. The new website needs someone experienced so a good structured website is created. It's harder to !@#$%^&* up something like that then to begin with another piece of crap that was made by a beginner. kentbrockman Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Posted November 5, 2006 just do it in frontpage or something. who gives a crap about all the fancy stuff, the content is all thats important. if you can use microsoft word, you should beable to run 17thparallel.com Quote
