Drukster Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Ok, I have been playing for awhile now and out of the blue just today my ping went from 60ping to 280ping with spikes. my ploss went from (server to me) 0.1 and (Me to server) 0.2 upto (server to me) 14.2 and (me to server) 0.0? I did a trace and saw this:Tracing Zone: SSCX Alpha West SVS IP Address: 66.36.241.110 Hop IP Address Host Name Loss(%) Min/Avg/Max Ping--- --------------- -------------------------------- ------- ---------------- 1 192.168.0.1 0.0 0 0 0 2 73.109.0.1 c-3-0-ubr01.orovalley.az.pima.co 0.0 0 0 10 3 68.87.172.197 ge-2-37-sr01.orovalley.az.pima.c 0.0 0 0 10 4 68.87.172.21 te-9-3-ar01.pimaco.az.pima.comca 0.0 0 0 10 5 12.125.99.101 0.0 10 10 10 6 12.123.206.22 tbr2-p013604.phmaz.ip.att.net 95.4 30 30 30 7 12.122.10.81 tbr2-cl1592.dlstx.ip.att.net 95.4 30 30 30 8 12.123.16.205 ggr3-ge110.dlstx.ip.att.net 95.4 30 30 30 9 192.205.32.158 0.0 30 40 10 ... ... 0.0 1000000 0 0 11 ... ... 0.0 1000000 0 0 Cycles: 21 What does all that mean? and how do I fix it? Please help!! Thank you
Hakaku Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Before anyone gets mad at you for it, I'd recommend at least 100 cycles and no less. If it's only today that's it has happened, maybe wait a day or two and see if it's a recurring problem. And a last note: does it just happen for Alpha West or other zones too? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum
★ SOS Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Yea, what Hak said. A trace of at least 100 cycles is needed for it to be useful. 400 is extra nice. The most likely cause of this is just some random network disturbance. They happen now and then. It will probably go away in a few days or maybe weeks (or maybe months ).
Drukster Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 OK, will do but it took awhile just to do that......... will it change after 100 or 400? it was just going up and up, any way thanks for the help, I'll let it run over night, btw I updated the drivers for my router and my ping droped back to norm but my ploss is still horrible, keep getting speced Ill post my trace tomorrow Thanks again for the replies

★ SOS Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 And are you experiencing any network issues? Why are you posting it here? (Also, the big loss is fine. Just a measurement error)
