jacob hunter! Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I want metal that sounds not so !@#$%^&*ing loud and lyrics drowned out. I want some more stuff like soad or queen of the !@#$%^&* soundtrack.
NBVegita Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Yeah screaming so your voice rasps into a microphone != singing lol I do like a bunch of metal, but it has to be coherent.
jacob hunter! Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 know ofany thats on the softer side? That you think is great.
NBVegita Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 If you're looking for softer go with stone sour. Awesome band, the lead singer for slipknot and their guitarist actually started with stone sour, and just went back to them back in 01 or 02 to produce some albums. If you'll listen to slipknot then you can't mistake their presence in stone sour.
Yoink Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 You two should try Symphony X/Dream Theater - progressive metal with zero screams. Symphony X has a very talented lineup (www.symphonyx.com), as does Dream Theater. I'm sure they have mySpaces that you can check out for tunes.

scarface.nl Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Agreed with the Children of Bodom, Witchie. They are really good. Btw, I found a alternative band thats pretty good. The Postal Service, same singer as Death Cab for Cutie. They are really good.
Witchie NL Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 saw CoB live last friday. Alexi (lead singer/guitar) was like 3 yards away from me $$.

»Swift Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 Testament - The GatheringIced Earth - Burnt Offerings/Something Wicked This Way Comes/All of them b/c they !@#$%^&*ing rockBlind Guardian - Night at the OperaDemons & Wizards - (First album)Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just BreathingExilia - UnleashedSonic Syndicate - Have a song that is unreleased and bad!@#$%^&* by themLacuna Coil - ComaliesSatariel - HydraFinger Eleven - Tap is their best album still I think... though they make great music altogether.H.I.M. - Dark Light (Saw them in concert back in May w/ the wife) they were awesome. I've listened to a plethora of music that is under a lot of genre's within the category Rock and by far.... a lot of my favorite band's are from Europe versus Streamlined bands in the U.S. There is a bunch of talent that just isn't getting the spotlight they should sometimes but it makes the music all the greater.
Muskrat Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 In no particular order: Sublime - self !@#$%^&*ledThe Best of Dave MasonThe Rolling Stones - Hot RocksDr. Dre - Chronic 2001Mountain - Mississippi QueenThe Best of Eric Burdon and the AnimalsLiving Legends - Almost Famous
scarface.nl Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 Chronic 2001 might be the only rap album I like.
NBVegita Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 The problem with the music industry isn't talent, its marketability. Its that way in every aspect of life. You could be brilliant, but if you can't market yourself to a company, then you don't get hired. I mean if you were a recording agency, if you pick up Kelly Clarkson you know that in a few months, your pockets are going to be real full. If you go scouting for european talent, that doesn't market so well to the masses...well its really a crap shoot. Not saying that it couldn't be a hit. But its like going to the track, every now and then you bet on the 50-1, but the majority will bet on the 2-1.
