Good idea. We should definetly have 2 weeks of advertising before it takes place so all those who only come on occasionally have a chance to know about it. There really needs to be better advertising of planned events in 17th. Need to do more than just simple little bot messages that pop up randomly. Should post somethin in the zone news section, and have staff advertise it during pub pop spikes.

Two things: First, the bot doesnt do those messages, its in the settings. Second, there is only so much we can do to advertise events, being zone adverts, periodic messages, news, 17thparallel.com, and this forum, but it's hard to reach everyone. a lot of ppl dont even read the news or visit the site or forum. but, you do make a good point still, in that we need to do something more than we are currently doing.

Two things for the fruityman too.. First: We see everything. Second: Definitely get in touch with cord and me, and we'll have a meeting with the three of us and see what we can work out.

you forget that the zone is under completely different management these days. its being run by those who actually do play events and actually know whats going on in the zone.

Basically agree with all of what emblazon said. However, we do have another way of advertising and that's through your personal aim and msn accounts. I personally have like 25 continuum people in a section of mine and out of those, probably 15-20 would play 17th if asked. So if you have friends on there, let them know about the event as well.

 

Like Snoo said, we would be glad to organize a meeting with fruity, and allow him to run this set event. Just let us know.

 

Additionally, we may not want to say it will ONLY be jwl and then you can leave, we could possibly throw in a premier of a much anticipated other event that a few of us have been working on for a while.

actually that wouldnt be a bad idea... everyone who wants to be informed give their e-mail adress to upper-staff, and when something is being planned... send an email to everyone.. hmhm

Definitely not a horrible idea, the problem would be making sure we had updated email addresses and that players would actually be involved or interested enough in upper staff emailing them when we had event news.

These things are quite easy to pull together. You don't need to wait for the upper staff to get involved fruity. It's all about networking. Taking initiative. BE THAT GUY MAN!
