»jabjabjab Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 If you can do that & add the textures to it and make it work for blender or importing to blender I would be very happy. Quote
Samapico Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 have the gman ride the lanc Quote
Gannon8 Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 (edited) Then blow him up >=D Trying to make soda bottles in it first (Specifically, Perks-A-Cola from CoD5). GMod needs more documentation......... Edited September 10, 2009 by Gannon8 Quote
Corey Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 So what's the status of the ships? Warbird (I dont know how to put the textures on those, and the model is all just one mesh, so I cannot work with it :/) Javelin - None Spider - Dunno what Diwa did to that Levi - corey must have stopped terrier - not done Weasel - dunno what gannon is doing with that. Lancaster - pimped out and ready to fly Shark - Mine and i have not worked on it since the screenshot. NightWasp - same with shark. I'll need a few models before I can work on my movie project. :/ Anyways good progress so far If i knew how to use these programs you guys do, then maybe i would have finished, but meh, i just can't seem to get the hand of it, all i got done was that crap ms paint diagram. Cheese Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 just remember, if you export your model to a d3d .x text file, i can put it in a rendering program. Quote
Static Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) My terr still needs work. The underside is so ugly. http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/1773/terr.png Edited September 12, 2009 by Static Quote
»jabjabjab Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 When it comes to our case, remember that polygon counts are not a issue, meaning our gfx is actually pre-rendered, so it does not load the model when in play. smoothing it alot and decreasing the cockpit bubble will make it look alot better. other than that, you basically have the proportions down. good work on first try. Quote
Static Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Some slight improvements- I smoothed it out and decreased the cockpit. http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4346/terrg.png Quote
»Purge Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Looks like a Lego space ship. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 It seems like you are going somewhere with that, but it will take quite a few more edits to get it in proportions with the VIE Terrier. Try fixing up the wings, and the gray areas around the cockpit. Quote
Static Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Subtle changes- http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/9581/terr23.png Quote
»jabjabjab Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Is this being done in blender? Quote
Drake7707 Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 I don't think splines are a good idea for a spaceship, it looks too smooth like it's from plastic or something Quote
Static Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I un-smoothed it a little now. Is this being done in blender? Yep. Edited September 13, 2009 by Static Quote
»jabjabjab Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 If you fix the proportions of the wings, fix up the gray boxes on the sides of the cockpit, and fix the back end by the engine, i'd say it'd be good enough to add textures and do finishing touches on it. Quote
Gannon8 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 1. Weasel2. About the Terrier, it does look like a lego ship. The edges are a bit hard with little transition in between. Good start though!3. I'll see if I can import models in Hammer (Source Engine and thus Gmod modeler) and see if I can make a vehicle. I would probably have to make a cockpit though for the first-person view. And I'll have to figure out how to weld something inside another prop to put GMan in it. Wish G mod had more documentation, the wiki is horrible. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Nice cockpit. I feel the engines are too skiny and rectangular and boxy. make them alittle more tall and i like everything Quote
Gannon8 Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 PH34R MY BOX ENGINE!I don't think I should have beveled the engines actually. Quote
Gannon8 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Huh, whats up with the lack of posts? Thought I was missing out on stuff. I think I am moving away from continuum and more towards Garry's mod and TF2. I will try to keep my models updated, because I still love the ship designs. For anyone that has G-Mod (and that cares) I'll try to put some models in it. I'm waiting for my teacher to get me a student license for Autodesk, so that I can get 3DS Max and export them to .mdl format. Quote

»LtNirvana Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 Theres a pretty good 3d view of a terrier on the subspace manual. Maybe you can use that as reference. That's probably a very rough version but that doesnt look like the original very much to be honest... Still good job all around I think. Quote
Gravitron Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 You have come long way with the models, kudos. Quote
Gannon8 Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Well, I got a student license for 3ds Max, but now I'm away from the computer that has it. My dad got a new computer, and I will hopefully be getting a new laptop soon. So, yeah, I can model better, because after I used my desktop with a new graphics card, my laptop got 20x slower. :/ I remember looking at a software program made for rendering worlds and stuff, and I posted that it didn't work on my laptop. I can't find the name of it again, and I am kind of bummed :/ I'm going to remodel the weasel in 3DS Max or K3D or whatever, and try to use NURBS, because right now the cockpit looks like a <> and not a O Quote
