Dr Brain Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Looks very cartoony. The look could work if you had a complete ship set, though. Nice work. Quote
PsyOps Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 yeh the cartoon look comes from lack of texture.Ill have to really try hard and make a nice texture for it, but i suxors. We will have to see how it all comes out. I am open to color/texture suggestions, even suggestions for redesign or new ship. Quote
Dr Brain Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Actually, I think the cartoon look comes from the exaggerated curves, not the lack of texture. Quote
PsyOps Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Yeh you are right. maybe i should just stick to remaking the old ships. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 everyone says that, but walks away after the first ship. Quote

Lots to do on it but i was bored  http://msguild.org/project_files/yoshi.gifThis is like 1 out of 6 karts that i did for mariokart event   these are all old files. Quote
grazzhoppa Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) Why are you all only posting pictures of the models you all have made? The thread creator originally asked for 3D models, not pictures of the models.  3 posts of 556 in this thread delivered on-topic material。post #26,reuploaded the files in post #101 after the attachments had been deleted for some unknown reason;added another ship in post #109 。 This is the only reply in this entire thread that delivers. In addition, if I may go so far to say except for the lanc these models are pretty crappy.99.5% of thread has been useless to people interested in obtaining 3D models of the ships. The topic title is misleading given the content of this thread. Along with the pictures of the models you all have made, post the 3D meshes or else don't post at all?  Does anybody know if the original 3d models of the subspace ships are available, or even a recreation? ... I would really love the original source files. Edited May 5, 2010 by grazzhoppa Quote

PsyOps Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 well the post was originally meant only for the wb but i thought id show more. The problem is this, as i said before its an app called "Ulead 3d production studio".Now if you guys dont like the ships in the first place then i dunno if its worth the trouble to export them. Looking at the app now... Im looking at the export options and i have [directx model(*.x)...] and then [3D Studio Model (.3DS)...] which im guessing is just for this app.  seeing as how this thread has gone for 4 years or so, I'm assuming these models aren't the easiest things to obtain/make. I'm just trying to help. Maybe there should be a sticky on this thread including the 2 files submitted. Quote
Cheese Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 been asking for meshes since the start, lmao...  the directx text .x format is the most easily used, therefore the best Quote
PsyOps Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 tell me if this is what you are looking for. and i dont know that i ever finished the wb, there may be some pieces i forgot to add.psy_wb.rar Quote

PsyOps Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 yeh thats beyond me jab. Thats pretty cool work you got there. Im very limited in 3d stuff and like i said i dont work with a known app. if you need help with anything, something i can help with, just let me know. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I am still needy of the stickers on the planes. If you can replicate these VIA PNG for transparent appliance, please show me your work towards it. Otherwise, I can do so. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Â Â Â current look. Honestly i feel ashamed as my current textures SUCK ASS but the model form is near perfect at this point. small tweaking of the warbird is all that is rly left. oh and the underparts too http://www.ssforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blum.gif Quote
whalz Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 well the wb is cooler than your banner, the boxy cockpit looks funky though.. cool and like it should.. but funky Quote
L.C. Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 I'd swear those tube things on the engines in the center are bigger and closer to the main hull in the pictures of the Warbird. Â http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/subspace/warbird.jpg Quote
»jabjabjab Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss31/XDreamersMS/Continuum/Jav.png  Javelin I started working on.  As far as minor fixes to the warbird and other ships in the future, I will do that when i am done doing base meshes for the ships. Quote
