The Lancaster is looking good. I like that you cleaned up the mesh That was my only gripe with the model I could care less about the accuracy of the model, I just like seeing that you are getting better at it

On another note, I did some work on a Lancaster model. Only preview right now is in my signature

 

It's not cleaned up too much, but its better than it was. I think I am getting better with it though. I just wish I could write my own plugins Like a decent fillet command and some aligning stuff.

Now all it needs is some textures and it will be all set for me to render

 

So lets see... We got to around page 14 in 3-4 years, and now we've gone up 4 pages in about 1-2 months. Awesome

 

Anyway good night for the day. Having trouble keeping my eyes open.

Latest version of the Lancaster, with the cockpit. And for your own sake use the .3ds file, not the .obj if you can.

This part of the mesh is the only thing that has been a bit annoying since ive worked with it. It's okay though because I personally cleaned it up on my last copy, but this is the uhh part we were talking about as far as cleaning the mesh.

I found a neat model of an MG42, but I can't convert it to a format I can use. I also can't connect to any games in Der Riese.

 

Edit: Since you really only need 1 file, you get a .3ds.gz file. If you can't extract it, download 7zip.

I GOT TO ROUND 23 ON DER RIESE WITH MY FRIENDS THEN MY INTERNET GOT DISCONNECTED

 

Had upgraded MG42, upgraded Ray Gun, monkey bombs, and a whole bouncing betty minefield where we were camping like in the trailer. We could have gotten much further too

Hehe, a spaceship made of stone. I guess it wouldn't weigh you down since your in space.

 

Anyway, nice work! I like the part thats attached to the cylinder on the wing.

Well, yeah... It's basically your model, and I've told you that it looks good. Jab's texture, rather than looking like metal, looks like stone... other then that, it looks alright. If it had more of a metal look, it would be better

the texture that's supposed to be metal is more of a granite texture than a metal one :/. Try reducing the amount of perlin noise or overlap with 50% opacity with a metal texture.

That's not how it looks in the VIE pictures. I'd rather not do it. Not like its overly hard, but I don't really like it that much.

 

Maybe I should make a bitbucket repository for these models Of course jab and diwa would get r/w access

Looks much better now. The metal paneling looks like its the same one I included with my WarBird model. I didn't create it, so I'm not trying to take credit.

Wow, when rendered into a shipset, you can't tell the difference between VIE's and ours, based on shape. GJ eveyone!

The most recent version of the lanc on 8/20/09 seems perfect now, compared to previous versions. Better than the Vie version almost. Definately worthy of being made into a shipset for the iso-view subspace client.
