Those are FREAKING FANTASTIC! VERY VERY VERY VERY GREAT JOB!!! I don't know how you guys are making all these 3D ships and all, but whenever I try to attempt to draw SS ships they all turn out to be like this:

(Sorry didn't mean to advertise, but this is seriously the best I can come up with >_<)

I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually made a zone like that... and called it "Cartoon World!"

If you could Gannon, it would be great to work more on the cockpits as far as detail.

Okedokey I'll get right onto that :D

I cannot texture this. Someone needs to help me texture this cuz I am not that good with art programs. I can create neat effects with filters but nothing useful. pc.gif

I found some 3D software. The wikipedia page says its called "Geist3D" but the homepage calls it "Pangea." It apparently was made for world based/space animation. Should be useful :D

Offtopic: If I see that dell commercial where they sing "Lollipop" one more time I am gonna go insane. tease.gif That must be why their computers break so easily. There made out of cream.

well Im doing what I can at this point as far as textures go. Ill Need a couple ships or a ship type to fill for my For Fun video intro I'm doing. Rendering it for the 3rd time because of a error, but it will only take a couple more hours.

I opened up Wings3D and stared at the section where the cockpit would go, wondering how to do it. Should I just do a small inset, or did we want to go in and make a full fledge cockpit? I'm stumped on what I should do (I'm not creative, hence why I'm copying off of subspace's ships). :D

My laptop doesn't have a good enough GFX card, and the studio installer is in .msi so I cannot run it with WINE on my desktop. :D

WTF HS NERFED REPELS. Now I have no good zone to play...

Guess that means more time for modeling.

I downloaded those images a long time ago from ssdownloads.

O wait the cockpit or the fuselage area? All I see cockpit-wise on the renders is just texturing. You want me to make it a different reflective material?

I'll probably render it with pov-ray, or LuxRender if the plugin ever gets made. I don't really plan on making it a separate object.

I looked at the Lancaster a bit more, and the models around Page 2. I think I know what you mean. It may take some work, but I should be able to do it. I'll also add some more details to the wings.

Okay thanks alot. The lanc model looked basically ready besides the cockpit so i might use it.

I don't know what to do with my nightwasp / shark atm so bleh blum.gif I'm also doing the ship symbols too.

Tada! The support isn't as slanted as it is in the VIE picture, but its still there blum.gif

The model is also (slightly) cleaner.

Once I add a bit of electronics to the wings and body it should be ready for version 1

Edit: I need to remember to press the attach button

front of cockpit could go down a tad more, but other than that, looks good. You could make the object alittle more smoother and add more verticies to it, but yeah the model is basically proportional to the original. Good Job.

I could smooth it, but it would probably screw up the cockpit like there's no tomorrow.

Wings3d needs some copy+paste support. I have to hand-copy everything into notepad then type it in just to align something to the same axis. thumbsdown.gif

I'll push the cockpit forward, but it will require a full redo.I need to write a plugin for aligning and filleting stuff.

Aparently Wings3d is written in some weird language called Erlang. I don't feel like reading on how to program on ANOTHER language, nor how to figure out the C <-> Erlang library. Notepad++ doesn't even have syntax highlighting for it. thumbsdown.gif (I must like the thumbsdown smiley alot B) )

After redoing it you can notice that the difference in height. Not. blum.gif Oh well. It looks a TON better than the previous one, so I'm not gonna redo it again (you can at least tell that (right? :) ) )

I REMEMBERED TO HIT THE ATTACH BUTTON HOORAY yahoo.gif

The Lancaster is looking good. I like that you cleaned up the mesh B) That was my only gripe with the model :) I could care less about the accuracy of the model, I just like seeing that you are getting better at it :)

Keep it up.

On another note, I did some work on a Lancaster model. Only preview right now is in my signature :)
