Diwa Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 woah nice texture on the warbird oO. The only thing that's looking a bit weird is the obvious texture mirror on the engines , both cracks are identical but mirrored Shhhhh! Don't point that out! Work stopped just as I started working on finishing modeling and starting texturing the engines. Quote
»doc flabby Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 also, since this is written in direct3d, i was forced to use a microsoft compiler, because theyre hoarding the libraries.i think it might only work on computers with a microsoft compiler installed, but i have no way of testing it.let me know if the exe doesnt work, so i can pistol whip bill gates.I couldn't get it to run Quote

Cheese Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 pretty sure its because im compiling it as a debug build, instead of a release build, so now im battling the compiler to figure out how to make it do so. Quote

tcsoccerman Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 why do ships have wings in the first place if it's space? Quote
Diwa Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 @Cheese: That works now... pretty cool @tcsoccerman: I'm guessing they have limited atmospheric capabilities. And it looks cooler... Quote
Samapico Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Wings are a good place to put gun/missile mounts, maybe Quote
Sass Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Ships have wings fully equipped and auto-controlled with ailerons and flaps to assist with the approach and departure from atmospheric planets such as ours, Hyphosus 4, Tiberia 19 and the third moon from Uranus. Once the artificial subsystems have fully automated their ability to navigate these conditions under hi stress or damaged extremities, the wings will be eliminated however the cockpits will be pushed forward of the fuselage and enlarged. The new ships suggested design is as shown in this illustration: Future Ship without Wings Quote

Diwa Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Well, here is the start of the Spider I started way back when... Really basic, I didn't get to detailing and, obviously, texturing it. But it still needs a lot of work. Some of the lines need to be worked on. but I thought you guys might wanna see... Edited April 11, 2009 by Diwa Quote
L.C. Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 That's really cool Diwa. Where do you get all that free time to do that? Quote
