rootbear75 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 There is no such thing as ID6...It is IPv6 which i guess is a new version of internet protocol... You people make a simple spelling mistake and you think there is a conspiracy going on..i learned it today in my network admin class ! ^_^ :pfff: :altec: :owned: :stupid: :rtfm: google it EDIT: heres a link -> http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...6.mspx?mfr=true

rootbear75 Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 QUOTE(SD>Big @ Oct 4 2006, 11:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>lol rootbeer.... ID6 is hardly a typo of IPv6 you goofball WATCH OUT THERE ARE NEW IP'S COMING!!! there is no ID6.. thats the whole point...I suspect that the person who started it thought it was ID6 instead of IPv6 or IP6 and sd>big.... IPv6 stands for Internet Protocol Version 6
Dav Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 IP6 has existed for a while, its just not been globally implimented till this.
»doc flabby Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 IP6 sucks. They've managed to totally over complicate what should be a simple protocol. which is why no one is using it....
»SD>Big Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 and sd>big.... IPv6 stands for Internet Protocol Version 6 i know what ipv6 stands for..... you just didn't get my post.
Dav Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 IP6 sucks. They've managed to totally over complicate what should be a simple protocol. which is why no one is using it.... its something micro$oft are best at. isnt it something to do with the lack of remaining IP adresses for normal use (seeing as big busness buy the entire range of class A and B adresses and waste most of them)

Smong Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Since the IP's are bigger the packets will be bigger too making more lag when we play ss
Dav Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 i think the differance will be negligable it will add something in the reigon of a few bytes i think. will the client be able to handle ipv6 for its fucnctions though?
»Maverick Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 doubt it, Dav, considering you have to put IP addresses in the server.ini etc.

Animate Dreams Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 You guys are so gay. Why do you have to be so dramatic in a freaking online 2D spaceship game? There are no conspiracies on here, just abusive mods.
Telson Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 because none of them have anything better to do.
