XDOOM Posted September 24, 2006 Report Posted September 24, 2006 I am looking for someone with plenty of time to create a website for devastation (to be located at deva.sszones.com) This person MUST know: HTML and PHPThis person should also have graphic design experience (I can't draw myself) I am looking for somebody that can create and possibly maintain the website. It must be completed within a strict timeline (less than 2 months). Anybody who would like to do this, please contain me in Devastation, leave me a mesage, or reply to this post. Quote
Gibbit Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 what about synister? didn't he say he knows html and php? and well I'd like to help but I'm not gonna carry the whole thing on my shoulders... I know html and I'm good with graphic art and stuff you know photoshop stuff. but I don't know php. you may want a small TEAM to do this I kinda doubt you'll get ONE person who can do it all AND is willing to maintain it. I suggest one coder (html and PHP) one graphic designer, and well thats kinda it. Quote
XDOOM Posted September 25, 2006 Author Report Posted September 25, 2006 Once school is over I can do the html/php too ... so one person SHOULD be enough. I realize that synister was supposed to do this ... but he seems to have a lack of time to design the website and also apparently lost the website stuff due to a crash or somebody deleting stuff (been there, done that lol). So since he does not have the time, i'm looking for someone else ... I am most interested in a design ... even if its a just a picture of the overal layout and stuff ... i'm good enough at html that I can set it all up. I am also learning SQL/db2 so I should be able to by january to have some stuff from our ASSS development added to the website, which will be fun. Quote
Gibbit Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 well... I don't really want to commit to a huge extent, cause I got school to worry about, but if you want a layout I might be able to make somthing in due time, if you give me an idea of what you want. Quote

»SOS Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 I like it, in general. Two problems:* Having two menus at the top is bad - just one should be enough.* The font in the menu bars looks ugly. I like Lucida Sans but many other could work, too. Sans-serif usually looks best. Verdana is popular but I do not like it. On closer inspection, the edges of the nuke sign look bad - it could use some blending. The "SSCB Devastation" text looks weird, too. The impression it gives is not that bad, but it looks ugly if you actually look at it. Beveled fonts are weird, usually, and rarely look good. Maybe... hmm. I would try something with very few effects, maybe some distortion filter and a bright, clean color. A fragmentation layer below it might look nice, too. Quote
Gibbit Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 thanks SOS alot of help ^^ I'll take it to heart and redo the layout in the next week or so I got alot of hw Quote
XDOOM Posted November 11, 2006 Author Report Posted November 11, 2006 Use Tahoma font ... that font is awesome Quote
