Evil Doom Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 i disagree.... a newb can get about 5k in 15 minutes of trying to kill... yes ive tested it and it's a fact.... i managed to get 10k in about 15 minutes or a little longer
Shia' Tan Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 it took me forever to get enuagh money to start upgrading all my ships and stuff. but maybe i just suck
Deathboy-evil Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Ok here's the truth, I started a new guy and it took me 10 minutes to get 20k. That's because I can kill and I have a good enough idea how to play properly. An average beginning player can get about 5k-10k in about 10-15 minutes. That's the truth. The problem is that they go and decide to buy every type of ship instead of upgrading ONLY 1 ship to begin with. If a beginner upgrades only 1 ship, they'll be set to continue owning including the vets.
Evil Doom Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 i agree with dbe!!!... now stop complaining about getting money being hard!!
Shia' Tan Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 lol, im not complaining. the fact is, some who are just starting are just that... just starting.they havent played for 3+ years, therefor, its all a learning process. btw, i upgraded my wb pretty good befor i bought my spid, which i completely upgraded before i got my wzl, which i upgraded to own before i bought lanc, at which point i had enaugh money to upgrad it completely when i bought it. i just recently bought a jav.
shot_237 Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Saying again, your starting condition is including your skills and knowledges. Try to see how a real newb play
podilarius Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I started what 9 months ago ... a real newb ... I had 5 ships nicely loaded before I got hacked. Its not that hard to get money. I thought it was at first ... but it was so addicting playing ... and so fun ... it really became pretty easy ... just to bad I got to start over .... or wait for biller ... and start over ... ok .. whining fest over with ... Get it back up ... lots fo me to do ...
Shia' Tan Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 yah. i started, what, like in july-august 2006. that was like the first time i played ss. i had 4 upgraded ships when i got hacked
Sharpflame Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 My first days of subspace were on hs, hs taught me how to play and everything. And i still was able to learn how to get cash, even if i did get some help.
Bankotsu Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 lol i remember back in the day when hs was kinda oldish that i would kill someone with about nothing on my ship and i could get about 100 gold each kill till i started to upgrade that was fun but it was a lot harder to kill someone so compaired to now now is alot easier to kill someone and get money kuzz u can kill faster
Suicide_Run Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 I started HS a few months ago....the good thing then was sometimes pub freq had vet players in them and there was way less turreting happening. Anyways, time to get back on track. Even if new ppl upgrade 1 ship, they need to upgrade properly for wat they r gonna use it for. People tend to see someone own in center w/ a ship that is config-ed for centering, so they try to mimic that layout. But then instead of using it for center, they use it for basing and then go on whining about how they get owned and cant get money. Its like putting shredder on a spider and using it for basing. Hey it works but it doesnt work as well as a bullet w/ bounce does. People needs to know wat config is suited for wat purpose so then they can get money easier w/ the ship they r using.
Sharpflame Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 always help the noobs in hs and dont tell them to go away or hs will never get more players.
Shia' Tan Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 newbs are funny but seriously, they can always use a little help
tcsoccer and neptune Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Hi,I was talking to Fat Cat the other day about the game and suggested that newbies should be given more money when they start. Fat Cat said it was a bad idea because people would make new accounts just to collect the money from then. So I thought about this and... 1) Make accounts unable to ?give for 24 hours (usage time) or 2) Make accounts unable to ?give if they have less than the start money or 3) This is the best option, have other ways to make money or get staff to give out money to people they know are new/poor. I have nearly 3k experience but my ship sucks because I can't get the money to improve it. Can't flag because I don't have a ship worth flagging in... no one knows because I can't fight with this ship and so no one wants me on their freq anyway. We should either start with a maxed ship and zero money or just 100k (either given when confirmed new or right off the bat). I make my money, you get like 100 per kill as a newb
