Synister Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I did a system recovery not long ago, and basically re-installed xp. I still get huge amounts of lag. I come in and for 10 mins my lag is fine, then it spikes from 0.1 0.1 to4% and 12%My current ms is usually under 150 though. Help?
»Maverick Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Lag is usally not related to your computer at all; you can reinstall all you want, it won't better your lag. Do a trace to the server you are playing from within continuum then Export the results and attach/post them here.

»SOS Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Trace seems perfect. Is the game smooth or jumpy at times? Maybe a driver is messed up...
Synister Posted September 18, 2006 Author Report Posted September 18, 2006 The game is jumpy at times, I'd be hosting and arena a message, like rules or something and it takes 2-4 seconds to appear on my screen.
»Maverick Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Have you tried a different resolution or switch to windowed instead of full screen (or other way around) ?Make sure you have your latest video drivers (for your video card) and directx.
Synister Posted September 18, 2006 Author Report Posted September 18, 2006 Odd.. I don't lag in windowed.. but I don't like playing in windowed >.< Any other way?
»Maverick Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 You are having the same resolution in full screen as you are using in windows right ?You do have the latest video drivers and tested directdraw with Directx's dxdiag program ?
Synister Posted September 18, 2006 Author Report Posted September 18, 2006 First sentence: Yes.Second sentence: English please.

»Maverick Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 If you have it installed, press Start / Run... / Type 'dxdiag' / Press enter or click on 'OK' Click the tab 'Display'. Check if DirectDraw is enabled and click the 'Test DirectDraw' to check if it works correct.
»SOS Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I have never seen a dxdiag test fail, actually Anyway... well... play in windowed mode Or try updated drivers. Try older drivers, too.
