»doc flabby Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 The LATEST vista verision seems to break continuum.... Hey guys' date=' I just d/l and installed the new build of Windows Vista - like a good little newbie, first prog I test out is continuum... So I can't get it to work. The server list doesn't show, although I can still select entries (blank ones), neither do the ships. When I click zones I can download and add/remove zones just fine, it's just that the server list doesn't show anything. When I click enter, I just get the flying stars animation with no line that says "connecting to SSCU Trench Wars" or whatever. Any ideas? I'd be interested to see if anybody else who's messed around with vista RC1 tried out the continuum program, or if anybody else can think of what the deal with the program is. i've tried the vista "program compatibility wizard" with no luck.[/quote'] http://www.trenchwars.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26815
Dav Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 well lets hope priit can fix this before the community is destroyed by vista.
PoLiX Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 He also needs to fix Subgame... Windows 2003 servers will only allow .39pr1 and .39pr3 to connect. SS 1.35 (Bots) and .38 just close or error.
»doc flabby Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 I've installed vista rc1 and discoved 2 things 1. i hate it - it askes you to !@#$%^&*ing "appove" everything. And its slow as !@#$%^&*.2. continuum doesnt work properly
MikeTheNose Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Complain to MS but wait for the official retail build to worry about anything.
»SD>Big Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 agreed with mike, keep in mind these are release candidates and are probably still in debug mode, thus hogging up resources (as my friend pointed out to me)
rootbear75 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 ive heard u also need an extremely good video card w/ lots of memory to have a chance at running vista at a decent speed.
»SD>Big Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 that's not true, that's just for the aero theme which is basicaly just esthetics, you need a card with 128mb memory to run, and if you dont have one, windows will automaticaly turn aero on and off depending your system's hardware.
Slipped Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Vista sucks and is full of bugs. I wouldn't recommend getting it until they remove all of the kinks.

I can turn off all the options to make it look like windows 98 again, but really why bother when i can just do the same in xp....
