»Blocks Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 There was a SSC biller outage today, which made me curious. Who is able to fix whatever went wrong and get the wheels rolling again when this happens?
PoLiX Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Priit... Priit... and uh.... Priit...
»Blocks Posted September 12, 2006 Author Report Posted September 12, 2006 Err I meant like, who restarts the biller an hour or so after it breaks? Maybe that's what you thought I meant though. If it's Priit, then perhaps we should break the biller more often to get his attention!
Death+ Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Agurus/Confess can be thanked for the outage. Sorry for the inconvenience. They have been delt with....#2013 access:4 by Ghost Ship 2006-09-11 23:23 days:90 Agurus#2014 access:4 by Ghost Ship 2006-09-11 23:27 days:90 confessSST will be black listed on directory list and to top it off confess' SSC slot has been removed.
»Maverick Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Can you give some vague explanation on how they got the biller to go down?
»doc flabby Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 I think its something to do with the biller being old an buggy I'm sure Cat-ids meantions in his one it has some options and protections it uses to prevent this kind of thing. But im just speculating
Dav Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 i think the biller is held together with ductape. im surprised that hasnt been made at least a bit more stable yet as this is a frequant occurance.

BDwinsAlt Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 ROFL I was talking to them when it happend. They weren't doing anything to the biller. <_<
»doc flabby Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 the biller was lagging then died before SSC Halo went offline.
Agurus Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 The biller died before we even moved, unless you still gave steigerald FTP (which Gameplay said you did). YOU death also gave him level 1 in our zone while he was fired and access to FTP and you refused to remove it. So from the looks of it you planned this? Heh if I crashed SSC cool I wish I knew how too also
gameplay Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 keep me out of the bull!@#$%^&* please, i had no part in this !@#$%^&*. honestly I have no clue wtf your even talking about. steig has lvl1 yes but D+ cannot just remove it at will he has to have a lvl0 admin remove it which he is not. And seriously I dont know wtf your talking about steig having ftp for, only person with ftp yesterday was beef I never said anyone had ftp.. Oh yeah bd had ftp to twcore.. Keep me out of this !@#$%^&*, you really dont want to involve me I been tryin' to calm situation entire time and you know it so just leave my name out of your posts please.
»D1st0rt Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Quite an interesting turn of events
»Maverick Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 I don't believe Death+ that anyone could have been responsible for a biller outtage, it's just not possible imo. (Also, why did it get back up after it "went down" ?)
»Blocks Posted September 12, 2006 Author Report Posted September 12, 2006 I don't believe Death+ that anyone could have been responsible for a biller outtage, it's just not possible imo. While merely speculating, not knowing too much about the SSC biller, I have my doubts as well.(Also, why did it get back up after it "went down" ?)Yes. This was my original question. Does somebody log in to a server, shut down the crashed biller, and start it up again?
protoman.exe Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 i think the biller is held together with ductape.
