i think a new client would kill alot of the playerbase as many wouldnt bother transfering so update is the best option.

Instead of "new client" it should read "additional client". I don't see any problems with a second option for a client, espically since the current one is pretty much dormant as far as development goes. I voted yes and yes, but I think an additional client, and an update to the current one would be fine.

Subspace in its current state, with no work being done on the client will die.

 

Accepting the above statement as true. What if anything should be done?

Subspace will never die. Nobody can force you not to have a SubGame, Subbill, Subdir, or to update your Continuum client. These are things that can't be taken away.
