activation Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 Alright. Basing is the reason I come to this zone. I have based in RS and EG for a little over 3 years. I like how hyperspace comes up with innovative ideas to go along with basing, however it is severely unbalanced. Here's just afew suggestions I have to put *some* things back in order. Changing ship availabilities with bricks: Bricks bricks bricks. They're lame, but everyone has them. There's a squad name devoted to utilizing the lameness of the brick. I do like how common bricks are, and like the recent additions of different shapes of bricks. Riddle me this, however. Should a shark with antideath, nuclear booster, and a rocket be able to have a cage brick in base? They're hard to hit and moving extremely fast, not to mention with a brick that has a radius 20 times their size. Leave cage bricks to slower, bulky ships only, like the terrier. It's still way too easy to brickwarp a lanc with cage, but at least the terrier would take some damage while gettting in range. Change antideath: Antideath, although I am horribly opposed to the idea of the ship being restocked with full items, can be acceptable in basing. However, I think antideath should be limited to one ship per player. This would definatly add a level of strategy to both the player in a freq and the player in a squad (if we ever decided to have a flagging league). Limit the Lancaster: Even more? Yes. Summoner, if a team bothers to use it, is the most effective means of taking a base over quickly. Transwarp p!@#$%^&* makes the difference in many flag games. Antideath gives the attacking/defending freq another fighting chance. The lancaster should be limited to taking only one of these three offers. Well, that's my two cents anyway. Thanks if you bothered reading through it :z. Quote
Dr Brain Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I do believe that there is a restriction on TW passes and Summoners already. As they are both FTL, you can't have them on the same ship. TW Tokens are an entirely different matter, though. Quote
Kilo Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 TW P!@#$%^&* is a non-factor because the only people that buy it are filthy stinking rich, and even then THEY will probably think it's too much. Since you don't even have to go out of your way to buy a TW token, it's hardly worth it to buy a TW pass Quote
activation Posted August 21, 2006 Author Report Posted August 21, 2006 Even better, make them choose between summoner and antideath then. Lancs get too many chances is the point I'm getting at. Quote
