Witchie NL Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 ok in DS we have several plugins loaded on two build 39pr2 (MERV)bots.I told the owner to update but he said it wasnt posible coz some plugins dont work under v46.I tested it but everything seemed to work. Is it posible that this change can couse any problems? Pwn3D

★ SOS Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 No, it should not cause any problems. The event dll interfaces have constantly changed but they are fully backward-compatible. Just some older plugins had a habit of saying ERROR ERROR when they saw newer interfaces, even if it was not an error. If you tested and it works fine, it will work fine.

Witchie NL Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 SOS's right, we had an custom rampage plugin which is compatible with the rank system. it had %rank% as extra macro included. It said *arena -ERROR- instead of the spree message. And unfortunaly the source is gone (made by 50% packetloss) so i think we need to keep 1 old core or i need to rebuild the plugin. (which i dont want to). DOES ANYONE HAVE THE SOURCE?????? Pwn3D
ThunderJam Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Ive seen people do something similar, but i doubt its the same problem, i tell u just in case Say you have 8 ranks, in the rankbot.ini make sure that you dont have any blank ranks higher then 8.Such as:7=Colonel8=General9=10= If you do this, and the person gets to rank 8 and above, the rank bot names their rank "-ERROR-" its late and im tired...i might not be making sense
Witchie NL Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 its late and im tired...i might not be making sense true doesnt mater which rank the player has. its the rampage plugin which is custom for DS and doesnt work with v46.it anounces sprees at 3 instead of 5 which is set at 5 in the ini. so i guess it has problems with reading the ini And the default value is set to 3 i think so its making ERROR at a spree of 3 instead of 5. (i so hate it the source has been lost) ok off to MSVC++ and rebuild it Pwn3D
