the mouse wheel actually zooms in/out ; i dont know if it is working for you... but the idea of changing tools... hmm... i like it

it could be an option... and then you could choose many other things that could be useful i guess...

Mouse-wheel will still just do the zoom

 

 

By the way, in one update the mouse-wheel behavior changed. It used to be scrolling "up" or foward would zoom in, and scrolling "down" or backwards would zoom out. With 1.2.7 it does the opposite which is un-intuitive for me - anyone else think so?

hm... actually Shift would be better because Control switches to the dropper temporarly... makes switching tool screwed up

No, a modifier key would make it not-very-nice. Just add something to the options.

 

You can always scroll to the zoom tool, so the tool-wheel is really a superset of the zoom-wheel

being able to do both without modifying options is still nice... but i guess an option could invert the two actions... so up/down would switch tool, and shift+up/down would zoom in / out

When I first saw this topic, I was going to suggest you use Ctrl+wheel to zoom in and out. I'm not sure what else does that, but something else I used did that... but Shift is fine. Either way, this topic makes me happy.

some programs use mousewheel up/down to scroll, and ctrl+mousewheel to zoom, like MS word and stuff like that
