Trip' Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 That was a good duel tourny last night, we had a good turn out. Congrats to Cord for winning. Side note: Was wondering if it was possible if there could be a count of how many rds a player plays throughout the dt. Like in a 5-4 duel with 3 ties thats 12 rds, plus a 5-2 with no ties being 7 rds, add them together ya got 19 rds. Ya get my drift and at the end of the dt we count up everyones rds and list em out. I thought it made a difference somewhat, albeit Cord probably woulda beat me anyways, but I did battle 33rds whereas Cord only did 15-20 maybe, although it wasnt his fault that his opponents quit on him.
Emblazon Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 later today, ill post a screenshot or two, and eventually, cord is posting the full results
Delic Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 I remember when league game results were posted right after the games were finished.. Läää lälälä läää..
Trip' Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 just finding it a bit odd that Delics post was posted at 11:22 and SNOo's was posted at 12:51 yet SNOo comes first....Is it because SNOo kiks !@#$%^&*?
Emblazon Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 theres a little thing called AM and PM, and i think you missed that seminar ;P however, i do kik !@#$%^&*, i kick more !@#$%^&* on accident than most do on purpose. oh, and the screens and results arent up cuz i forgot to and i dont have the full results from cord yet. itll happen.
Samapico Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 theres a little thing called AM and PM, and i think you missed that seminar ;Ptheyre both PM...
Delic Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 It depends on what time zone you have the boards set on. My post was posted 11 hours after his. EDIT: WÄTÄFÄK! Samapico's post: Today, 12:36 PMThis post: Today, 02:33 PM 12 is obviously more than 2, which means that my post was posted before his. Time travellers
Incomplete Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 SNOo Jul 31 2006, 05:51 PM Delic Yesterday, 04:22 AM Seems fine to me.
Samapico Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 explanation:Jul 31 2006, 12:51 PM -> 12:51 Jul 31 2006, 11:22 PM -> 23:22 this is why the 12-hours system is completly illogical couldnt we set our display settings to 24-hours before?
Trip' Posted August 2, 2006 Author Report Posted August 2, 2006 I knew that....12:51p is in the afternoon and 11:somethinp is that night. Wow....blonde moment. So anyhows getting back to what this topic was about kinda. DT results and wondering if the amount of rounds a player plays can be added in there in future DTs
Samapico Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 compiling all-time DT stats of players would be interestingnot only fights won and lossbut how many individual rounds were won, lost, or tied interesting stats could come out of that as the average kills per loss (av. number of kills you got when you lose to someone 5-#) or avg deaths per win (i.e. someone who has 0 deaths per win would really OWN everyone 5-0... but someone with 4 deaths per wins would mean he still had trouble with his opponents)
Emblazon Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 thats a good idea, i may considering track individual player statistics myself, given that cord ever POSTS the results... bleh...
Tex Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 If you use the duel bot, all the results are held in a .txt. You could just change the file name before you start, turn it on, and upload the file to the forums.
Emblazon Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 bleh, i dont want a txt. i plan to use excel or something so that its easier to manage.
Incomplete Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Or use a !rank command with the bot and possibly a !top10 to see the top 10 players. Come to think about it, it would good a good idea to have the stats on form or 17thparallel.com that updates itself or something. The BOT>s always mess up or go offline. There should also be a ranking system in a load of other events and even in pub.I'd wanna keep playing to be number 1, might have a similar effect on other people.
Delic Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Yes, it seems zone managements (not just in 17th) don't understand the important role that a ranking system would play.
Trip' Posted August 3, 2006 Author Report Posted August 3, 2006 Indeed a ranking system would be great. Ive noticed from DSB how stat-aholic they are. And my underlying point there is, dont hesitate to use ideas that other zones are using, such as simple little things they have, ie: DSBs 15min pub ranking. And I didnt really play any other zones while 17th went on hiatus but ya get the point. Other than that, Im with Inco about wanting to play to be numba 1 if there was a ranking.

Tiq Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Give us the results -EDIT- nevermind, i found them
Trip' Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 Just had an idea. Howa bout we host more than just one event each week. Say we host DT every Sunday, and on a Wednesday or whatever day we host Rumble. On Friday we host sblball. We should seriously get somethin like that going. Instead of waiting a week for something, we can have some event hosted each day of the week or maybe 3-4 days outa the week. And keep DT every Sunday, we can have that set up as the regular event that wont change, same time same place every week, duel tourny. And the other events can either be cycled around or randomly hosted. Say have Tuesday or whatever day as mystery event day, an event is randomly hosted. Then Thursdays can switch between rumble, sblball (or any other event). Give some feedback.
Emblazon Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 we do intend to add more weekly events once we get rolling. but that means we gotta have ppl coming to them and participating.. its kind of pointless to have 30 ppl in the zone but only 8 come to play
Samapico Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 hosting them every day would get people bored of them fast and it would not be "special" events anymore, so people would not care to participate in them that much...2 or 3 per week would be enough
Emblazon Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 since ur !@#$%^&*t. events coordinator, i guess that would be.. your department
