★ SOS Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 DCME is the best map editor. It has a forum right here - have a look.
🜲 Samapico Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 Link to DCME forum: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showforum=277Direct link to the download thread: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=10662 Make sure to click Help -> Check for updates before using it. For bug reports, suggestions or feedback, use the DCME forum As for tilesets, DCME allows you to grab tiles from different tilesets that you'd find interesting. You can import them directly from your favorite map you played in ; you can find every map you played in in your Continuum\Zones\ folder. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
★ Bak Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 CLT is the best map editor. It has a websitre right here, look: http://rshl.org/!@#$%^&* SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client
⛊ Drake7707 Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 clt is good for lvz editing, as dcme doens't have that yet, but DCME is more flexible at the actual drawing of the map.
Ice Demon Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 SSME is old school; I use DCME for general editing but as for fine tuning SSME still holds champ; unless you intend to use the special tiles. !@#$%^&* is a god send, I remember placing 400+ lvz with notepad and calculator; whenever I loaded the map and found an offplaced lvz it was back to drawing board.
🜲 Samapico Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Excel and notepad can be faster than CLT for placing a lot of LVZ's in a defined pattern... not necessarly "tiled", but for example, 50 lvz's at the same X, with a difference of 64 in Y... you write 2 of them in excel, drag them, copy, paste, bingo and i'd probably use CLT all the time if my computer was faster... but it is kinda slow for me so its a pain to place alot of lvz's with it... if there was a way to turn off the actual preview and just draw some kind of rectangle around the lvz's, i'd do that and im guessing it would be much faster. Cause I have like hundreds of animated lvz's in my map... been working on it for years because of the slowness of lvz placing oh, and we should be able to "snap" to something else than tiles.. all the lvz's i need to place need to have an offset of 8 pixels with the tiles, so I would like to be able to snap to 8 pixels, it would speed up my thing alot... consider this for the next update Bak or do that just for it would probably take you 5 minutes http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
