I think the Icefire needs to be upgraded just a bit. It is defined as a "High Grade Interception System" And s!@#$%^&*ing out 20k for I think it needs to be just that. Lets take a look at the stats...

 

 

Ion Drive

Speed 2

Thrust 2

Rotation 2

 

Icefire

Speed 5

Thrust -1

Rotation -1

 

 

We are gaining 3 points in speed but losing 6 points total. It's very difficult to change direction without using the turbo, which makes dodging very difficult. Now, with stealth bombers, fast terriers, and a plasma cannon that does a lot of damage, spreads, AND bounces...it's time to upgrade the Icefire. It is also very difficult to get any type of speed going without turboing. Icefire costs 10x the amount of the Ion yet is at -3 point disadvantage. It also has a lot of difficulty maneuvering around a levi! At this point it looks like its anything but a "High Grade Interception System"

Don't let -6 for +3 fool you, having a maxed out (!@#$%^&*uming 5 is such) attribute can often be worth more overall disadvantage.

 

I have not tested IceFire myself, but I'll guess that having a disadvantage in areas compared to having no drive at all makes it more trouble than its worth.

Honestly, 20k isn't worth icefire i'd say 10k considering ur losing that much and your only getting 5 speed, I agree it should be upgraded to like 4/3/2 .. considering its a high interception system.. you need some rotation and a high intercept, means u can thrust at something to intercept it.. meaning 3 would be good for it.. doc said its meant for speed.. so be it 4/3/2 ... that would be worth the 20k .. but other than that theirs a reason why no one buys icefire...

Agreed it was, but when you first buy it now it'll been all perfect and everything except a little slow rotation but hey nothing's perfect, but anyways after you die or re-ship it'll be gone, decreased in speed thrust etc.

Yea IceFire is terrible when it comes to turning and dodging, you can't dodge worth crap in one, all you can do is turn tail and run and then get called a lamer
