JoWie Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Just a small suggestion, disable neuting. This would make the flag game alot more challeging So, what do you all think? Quote
»D1st0rt Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Neuting has been a core part of the flag game since the beginning Quote
JoWie Posted June 25, 2006 Author Report Posted June 25, 2006 Yes, I understand that, but what is wrong with changing this ?It will have a major impact on flagging and I am not good at giving arguments. The zone isn't done yet (right?) so trieng this out wouldn't hurt. (yup, i have been playing EG to much ) Quote
Dav Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 its just not flagging without nuting. plus that allows newbs to ruin it. Quote
»D1st0rt Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Neuting allows longer more involved flag games and it also gives teams an opportunity to switch bases Quote
JoWie Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 I agree, but the main reason i am suggesting this, is because of ppl hiding flags at the beginning of a new flag game. (with neuting disabled it is still possible, but much harder to hide a flag in 10 seconds).I do not find this a big problem, but in my opinion it ruins what flagging is. Less fighting, more searching and annoyance. I hope that if (and not when) neuting is disabled, flagging is more between 2 big freqs then 6 small ones and 1 or 2 medium size freqs searching for flags 24/7. Quote
Bomook Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Personally I like neuting, but I think JoWie has a point with his suggestion. I would still prefer being able to neut most of the time, but perhaps (in general) just have one (or a few) day(s) out of the week where HS has different flag game settings? I still believe that overall, neuting is a positive aspect of the classic flag game. Being able to neut in a base and then immediately fight is a much more positive influence than the negative of being able to hide them. I know HS has tried different things like different team sizes, different jackpot award/distributions, different flag holding times, so I'm not against experimenting. With disabled flag neuting, however, the carry time for flags should be no more than 2 or so minutes. I think a better solution is, (if possible) have a module that simply broadcasts the location of any neutral flags if they are untouched for 10 or so minutes. I'm not completely opposed to disabling flag neuting, but I don't want to see it replace the normal zone settings, so I voted regular "no". Ideally, this type of thing would work better in multiple arenas, having the pubs as they always are, but putting the different settings in other arenas, so there's something for everyone's fancy. But since HS needs to build its population up again, I think it would work better to just put it on the main arena for a period of time. Quote
JoWie Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 Personally I like neuting, but I think JoWie has a point with his suggestion. I would still prefer being able to neut most of the time, but perhaps (in general) just have one (or a few) day(s) out of the week where HS ... yeah, it isn't really neuting i dislike, but the hiding part. I have seen the broadcasting of neuted flags in other zones and i think would be great if this was implented in hyperspace. (I'm only suggesting that a change would be nice to make versus flag hiding, I am not trying to be intrusive) Quote
»D1st0rt Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Perhaps the periodic announcement of neuted flags not in a base? Quote
Dr Brain Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 What I would prefer instead is a slightly different flag game. Flags have no drop timers, but instead drop instantly when you enter the FR. Five minutes after the team owns all the flags and two minutes after their last drop (which ever comes later), they win. Quote
Hi-5 Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 well, alot of people dont neut inside FR's Quote
EdTheInvincible Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 this would limit flagging to the bases Quote
