Guest Guest_findingEMO_* Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Well, I recently had a problem with the prerelease1 in the past. [fatal error thing] so I switched back to the original version. This has been working well since today. Until it suddenly did not work. I did not install anything / no viruses / no spyware / no registry changes etc. I cannot get a DR. WATSON report as the process is running in the background but nothing shows up. When I try to disable the process in WINDOWS TASK MANAGER, it gives this error: Unable to Terminate ProcessThe operation cannot be completedThe operation is not valid for this process. And formatting or going to an old restore point is not an option. Sorry for the vague description. By the way, restarting does nothing. Nor does compatability. Windows Operating System : XP w. Service Pack 2.Firewall: ZoneAlarm Pro (no the program is not restricted)AntiVirus: NOD32 + AVG (I installed them months ago so there cannot be a conflict)AntiSpyware: AdawarePro + Spybot Should I perhaps post a hijackThis log (though in my opinion it would be useless. pfft)
★ SOS Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 I think that would be most likely useless, as well. But try removing those firewalls and antiviruses and see if maybe one of them is the problem. Yes, there can be conflicts, even if you installed them months ago.
