The Apache Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Please implement Baks "EZ tiling" system into your map editor. Maybe then will I use it more often. Download !@#$%^&* to see when I mean.
Samapico Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 isnt that something like walltiles? but in CLT you can only use these 'walltiles' (or auto-tile, as it is called in CLT) with the 'autopen' tool, which is like the normal penIn DCME, you can now use walltiles with any tools
Samapico Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I'm almost done with an update of the walltiles... they're working much better now I just need to add the option to specify a default walltiles set...
Bak Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 but in CLT you can only use these 'walltiles' (or auto-tile, as it is called in CLT) with the 'autopen' tool, which is like the normal penIn the most recent version of CLT (off sourceforge), the autotile is just a tile like any other and can this be used with any tool. Also you can create a wall first, then specify the tiles for the walltiles, and apply it to a selection (it will place the appropriate tiles where they belong). Not only this but there's support for an infinite amount of different walls (in case your tileset has more than one) which are saved along with the map (so when you open it they're still there). Also, opening a new map will cause CLT to attempt to read wall tiles off the map and import them automatically with reasonable accuracy (so you don't have to do anything to start using the walltiles). That being said, I've downloaded DCME recently and it runs well. Keep up the good work.
Drake7707 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 dcme will also do auto-saving/auto-loading walltiles alongside a map (with an option to turn that behaviour off). Once it's implemented that is (still need to figure out if walltiles can be integrated into the lvl file too)
Bak Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 You could make them eLVL files and store the data in an eLVL chunk, although I'm not a fan of storing anything extra in the lvl file (even regions are proccessed entirely server side for now, so I don't see why the client needs to download this data). Adding eLVL support would have the plus side of letting people use DCME to make ASSS regions.
