The Charity, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) party said on its Web site it would be officially registered on Wednesday, proclaiming: "We are going to shake The Hague awake!" The party said it wanted to cut the legal age for sexual relations to 12 and eventually scrap the limit altogether. "A ban just makes children curious," Ad van den Berg, one of the party's founders, told the Algemeen Dagblad (AD) newspaper. "We want to make paedophilia the subject of discussion," he said, adding that the subject had been a taboo since the 1996 Marc Dutroux child abuse scandal in neighbouring Belgium. "We have been hushed up. The only way is through parliament." The Netherlands already has liberal policies on soft drugs, pros!@#$%^&*ution, and gay marriage, but the NVD is unlikely to win much support, the AD quoted experts as saying. "They make out as if they want more rights for children. But their position that children should be allowed sexual contact from age 12 is of course just in their own interest," anti-paedophile campaigner Ireen van Engelen told the daily. The party said private possession of child pornography should be allowed although it favours banning the trade of such materials. The broadcast of pornography should be allowed on daytime television, with only violent pornography limited to the late evening, according to the party. Toddlers should be given sex education and youths aged 16 and up should be allowed to appear in pornographic films and pros!@#$%^&*ute themselves. Sex with animals should be allowed although abuse of animals should remain illegal, the NVD said. The party also said everybody should be allowed to go naked in public. What does everyone think about this TV show called "To catch a Predator" where they set up a meet between a pretend 14-15 y/o girl and a person who wants to have sex with them. Then when they show up they get them on film and arrest them etc. I actually think its wrong. If they really want to catch pedophiles then they should pretend to be a 7-8 year old (boy or girl) because otherwise all you're doing is catching horny 20-30 y/o's who like many people think that once a girl is fully developed and is old enough to make up her own mind they should be able to have sex legally. I personally would not have a problem with a 14 or 15 year old girl or boy having sex with anyone so long as they wanted too. The only thing stopping alot of people is the law and the morals we've been forced to adhere too. I agree (with the pedos) that the age of consent needs to be reduced and i think programs like "to catch a predator" are pretending to be 14-15 y/o for a reason other than to actually catch "predators". 12 is a little early though. Sex with animals doesn't need to be illegal. Its merely a physical act that is taboo.Pornography should be allowed on day-time TV.Public Nudity should be legal. So i agree with them on most things although i doubt their motives and i certainly don't think the age-limit on sex should be eliminated altogether because certain ages just aren't developed at all in that way mentally or physically.

This is so cool, I want to see them get to parliament just for its shock factor I can't wait to hear how this turns out (although I'm pretty sure it'll just get crushed and receive no support). Also, agreed with SeVeR, too, mostly. The age of consent is 14 here in Estonia and since the last few generations are pretty much atheist (thank you, Soviet Union!), we have almost no religious teaching that would tell us things like "Sex before marriage is bad". I like the way we have it here - we have freedom Sex with animals is weird, though. Not the good kind of weird, either. Of course not many people would be involved in it but still... I'd prefer such weirdos to be kept in check <_< PS. I do think you changed the topic too much on the "To catch a predator" part, SeVeR.

Aileron Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 .... Its wrong for the 14-15 yr olds too. People have a tendancy to do stupid things when they are young. Unless they can take care of themselves economically there's no way they can take care of themselves sexually. That means they should be out of high school, working full-time, and reside by themselves before being expected to make responsable sexual decisions. Otherwise they will likely make mistakes they will regret for their whole life.

A person who is induced by the police to commit a crime that he or she would not have otherwise undertaken can claim the defense of entrapment.

Care to explain? I agree that the chance to make bad mistakes is bigger when younger... but to tie it with economic independence? I would call that major overprotectiveness. Which leads to my next point: Mistakes should be made! Nay, lots of mistakes must be made. I would say a life without mistakes is a worthless one. They are what you learn from. At the same time, recovery options should be provided (abortion, drug rehab etc) but I strongly feel that with eliminating the possibility to make a bad call, a huge amount of... meaning goes out of life.

I've seen a few disgusting videos like that, and they seemed to be enjoying it, and even laughing with their friends. I think you should have to fill out a legal do!@#$%^&*ent with both the adult and the child's signature, to let them know you're going to have sex. Or something along those lines.
