I\/Ir Beefie Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 If you are available, and an excellent coder... then you are my person. I am looking for a certain plugin to be made which is difficult, and many coders I know are not capable of doing it. If you are interested in helping me, please contact me in game.
Witchie NL Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 well you already know my awnser... need to learn some things before I can help ya with it. I Hope anyone can make it work.
»D1st0rt Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 Just a heads up, pretty much all of the "excellent coders" I know of have already got their hands full with whatever projects they have from their current position. I'm not sure if your "person" exists in the current state of the community. Also, not to be mean or anything, but your request is reminiscent of those "Hey my zone is great and really original and inventive if you are a host on SSC please contact me in-game to discuss hosting options" posts. A simple supply and demand model would indicate that a bot dev is unlikely to be going out and actively seeking work (especially when they have no idea what it is) because it's probably already being shoved down their throat. Please don't take this the wrong way, but here is some advice that may increase the success of your search. The most important thing is to include details about the !@#$%^&*ignment. What core are you using? What is the incentive to the developer? What kind of timeline are you looking at for completion? What IS the bot supposed to do? That last one is probably the most critical. A common concern is for the security of the idea, usually through secrecy. If it is indeed as difficult as you say it is, the chances of it being stolen are at most minimal. I can't speak for all bot developers but I for one always want to know up front what it is that I would be doing before even considering taking on a project. Again, please don't think of this as an attack because I'm just trying to help by providing a little bit of insight as to what you might be up against. Good luck, I hope you find someone that can get the job done
