Samapico Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 That is the question... The only use for default.bmp now is to allow people to change it to get a different default tileset, because the program itself contains the default tileset and doesn't really need to have that bmp. Other than that it's just an annoying file that brings problem when it's not found... The best thing to do in my opinion would be to get rid of default.bmp, but add an option to define an external tileset as default, so then the user could specify which tileset to use when he creates a new map, the path of the tileset could be saved in a text file for the next use...Bleh why am I even creating a poll for that, that is what I am gonna do anyway... oh well, just tell me what you think about it.
»D1st0rt Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Just have it check for a default.bmp and if it doesn't exist just load up the internal default.
Drake7707 Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 act the way continuum acts build in default.bmp, or imported tileset in the lvl, so never need for an external bmp.
Samapico Posted May 9, 2006 Author Report Posted May 9, 2006 yeh... but to specify a desired tileset to load as default when creating a new map is nice too...
Drake7707 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 it's not like you create multiple new maps per day. so it might only bother you when you create a new map, and all you have to do is import one.
