Samapico Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 ok some suggestions - The whiter grid lines... I think you set them to fit continuum's coordinate system right? , but I prefered having it at fixed number of tiles like 32 so it would fit well with the center lines... soooo I suggest having them being adjustable... like... you give a X number of tiles between 2 and 1024... each Y of them, you put a red line... (for example, as I had it set before, X would be 32, and Y would be 4... That way, grid would be fully customizable... !@#$%^&*, if you do a form for it, you could even make the colors adjustable for all 4 grid lines type... normal dark (grid)whiter lines (let's call them sector lines)red lines (large sector lines)and centerthat would be so cool... Well, if you dont do it, I'll do it whenever I get time again anyway Oh... and an 'offset' for these sector grid lines would be useful... or an option to 'align with center' the grid...What I mean is, if you want a sector line each 17 tile (X = 17), it wouldnt have to be at tiles 0, 17, 34, etc... because it wouldnt fit with center lines, and wouldnt be useful for symetrical designing of maps....With an offset of 512 mod X (I think...I just made that up) , the sector lines would fit with center... there would be one at 512, and then one 17 tiles away the way I see it, you'd have a slider with which you could change the offset (from 0 to X) , with a button to 'center' that would set the correct value for center setting horizontal and vertical settings could be different as well... just need all the controls doubled, and perhaps a check box (selected by default) to use same settings on both axis If I remember how I made the lines draw, doing all these things arent that hard I think.. Would need a form with all those adjustments wow... I just thought most of these things while writing the post... heh... ok... emm.. I had other things to suggest:When you start the program without having a default.bmp... I had made it so it would ask you automatically to import a tileset... if you select 'cancel' , you get a message saying you 'need' to select a tileset for and it brings you back to the import tileset screen...So if one starts the program without having any tileset on his computer (like I just did) , you're stuck ... so we'd need a 'quit program' button with that error message... and/or a 'use internal default tileset' button to get the tileset from picdefaulttileset (which I use to compare the default.bmp with the 'real' default tileset) hmmmm... And I just tried the mouse-scroll while using a tool on this much faster computer... and wow it's fast... adjusting the speed would be nice... there's already an integer called 'speed' in the dragmap sub... changes the # of tiles to move at each scan of the sub... simple slider in some other form to select from 1 to 10 or so... speaking of all these options... could all be included in one main options panel... with tabs... that'd be niceand as the features are added, just add some tabs ... mhm... Where do I get all those brilliant ideas from? I'm so cool that's all I have to say for now farewell, good luck, and good job with these things you added oh... and I just noticed there is some whitish background behind the zoomed preview and the <-> label... its kind of ugly i dont know if its an easy fix or not, since its a picturebox.. anyways... just to inform
